  1. I've have been very happy with the ultra clean and precise sound from my GR Bass amp, cab and preamp pedal...... But we all like a little bit of dirt now and again don't we. So.... Bass Bros had this Ampeg PF50 and cab for sale and I hit the buy button without hesitation. I had for some stupid reason thought the cab was the 12" version. I looked again this morning and it was clearly marked 15". Will ( bass Bros ) very kindly said he would take it back if it did not suit my needs. After leaving it a few minutes to warm up I was pleasantly impressed with the warm sound that filled the rehearsal room. Obviously it sounds completely different from the GR Bass, they are so different. I'm not going to gig it, it's just for my person practicing pleasure..... Nice.
  2. Highly regarded pedal to add a fat sound. Can go from subtle to complete distortion. Very versatile effect pedal. Velcro on bottom that can be easily removed. £70 including UK delivery. Introducing the Jive - Reel Saturator, the pedal that will take your sound to the next level. Inspired by the iconic Akai GX 210D reel-to-reel tape machine from the 1970s, the Jive is all about delivering that signature warm and gooey saturation that comes from pushing the pre-amps to the max. But the Jive is not just for the vintage purists - it's bold, gritty, and loaded with screaming old-school mojo that'll make your music stand out from the crowd. Whether you're looking to bring some serious edge to your lo-fi garage tones or give your modern-day synth a throwback feel, the Jive - Reel Saturator is the answer to your prayers. And with its deceptively simple yet insanely versatile control set, the Jive is the perfect tool to help you dial in that perfect level of distortion. In addition to the Volume and Gain controls, the Jive features three clipping diode toggles that allow you to experiment with different levels of asymmetry and symmetry, so you can create your own unique sound that's all your own. What's more, the Jive - Reel Saturator is designed to handle everything from 9v to 18v, giving you even more headroom to explore the crackling and gritty textures within. Whether you're after a subtle touch of vintage warmth or want to crank up the distortion to tear down some walls, the Jive - Reel Saturator is the key to unlocking your sonic potential. Don't wait - get your hands on the Jive - Reel Saturator today and experience the unparalleled warmth, grit, and mojo that only a true vintage-inspired pedal can deliver.
  3. Impressive three way design instrument cab that can be used for acoustic and electric instruments. I have used this with double bass, electric bass and acoustic guitar. Comes with a cover. Light weight and easy to transport. £175 including UK delivery with ups.
  4. A very rare opportunity to own a fantastic optical compressor. Boxed with an unused bandana. https://www.compressorpedalreviews.com/post/union-tube-transistor-lab-compressor-review The LAB is an optical compressor. It uses custom optocouplers to achieve up to 30dB of musical-sounding compression. We loved how in the recording studio even with tons of compression the old optical compressors such as the LA-2A, the LA-3, the LA-4 sounded smooth and natural. The essence of the LAB's sound comes from the fast attack and slow release times of the custom optocoupler. The optocoupler's behaviour is quite complex, and program-dependent. It can't be modelled with simple resistor-capacitor networks. We wanted the pure response of the optocoupler to define the LAB's dynamics, and not supplement that with RC filtering. To that end, we tried out just about every off-the-shelf optocoupler on the market, but ended up designing and manufacturing our own custom units. There's an interplay between dynamics, noise floor, distortion, and available compression on the one hand, and the opto's electrical parameters on the other. Since nothing commercially available fit the bill, we built our own. With just two controls – compression and gain make-up – the LAB is fast and simple to use. It sounds great on bass and electric guitar, and the noise floor is impressive – quiet enough for studio use. It really shines on acoustic guitar, vocals and drums. 6. GR Bass Dual 1400 .... Clean and punchy with two independent inputs on the preamp. Laney Nexus Valve .... Big powerful valve amp that sounds immense. The third is a little more difficult... Maybe Glockenlang, Warwick Hellborg or Phil Jones?

  12. I'm using and can recommend the GR Bass 1400 or 800 heads. They are very neutral sounding with lots of high energy punch.
  13. The guy in the shop was the owners father I believe. Chris the owner was away recording his band. £3.5k would of been a sensible price. He is unlikely to get nearly £6k.
