1. Nice sounding and I thought would be what I was after I.e. something not too gnarly sounding. Turns out I wanted something gnarly Now out of production: http://www.owenelect...o.uk/36501.html
Low compression overdrive for bass guitar, two foot switched filters and mix control. This was a very transparent sounding pedal that was great for bassists who wanted just a bit of grit and warmth added to their sound.
It comes with the original protective bag, and I also have an instruction sheet for it that Mr. Owen kindly sent to me. £85 posted in the UK
2. A recent experience of mine: package sent from the US via USPS, tracking number not recognised in Parcel Force tracker. Next thing I know I get a slip of paper through the door saying they have a parcel for me and that there are charges to pay. Amazingly, Parcel Force applied their own tracking number once it reached the UK. Useless when you don't know what it is!
3. I think Michael Tobias would be well aware about the costs of these basses, and what he plans to do when he retires and IMO its rather presumptuous of you to speak on his behalf in both respects. Also, the blackened redwood is not the same as the so called "Audi" redwood. That said, if this is as good as the very similar non-chambered 635 that I used to own, it will surely be amazing GLWTS, and yes I'd like to see some pictures too
4. I bought a PJB Bass Cub from deepalma, I collected, paid cash. All went smoothly, good communication, and no surprises. Exactly as it should be! Happy to give him my seal of approval
5. Is the bridge string saddle in a fixed position on this? Its a beauty for sure.
6. These cabs are epic. Kinda miss my b2. They can take a lot of power, and may not be as sensitive as many cabs, but they get plenty loud and the tone! What you put in comes out in spades. Good luck with the sale.
7. Is there something "new" going on? Fender bought SWR well over 10 years ago.
8.
I tried to send you a pm but they return blank on my side... Don't know if you received them in good shape... can you give me a message?
Pm received and replied, thanks!
9. Long overdue bump. Trades possible on 5 string basses.
10. Second time dealing with Dean, and this time he bought an amp from me. Really easy to deal with, good communication, no messing about. Thanks Dean, hope you enjoy the Thunderfunk!
11. is this a 1212L or 1212R ?
12. alright Harry, hope you are well? I did a bit of research on these, and they seem to have a pretty good rep, especially for DB. Any chance you could post a picture?
13. If you like Lalo, it's worth checking out "The Cat" by Jimmy Smith. Hammond Organ goodness, backed by Schiffrin arranged/conducted big-band backing. Some years ago, I saw an episode of Ironside and the music was a cut-above the usual 60's/70's TV shows. It turns out that Oliver Nelson did a lot of composing/arranging for tv/film music back then.
14. bump - i can send this anywhere if you want to cover the shipping costs...
15.

ok this in ON HOLD for now
16.
pm'd
answered
17.
Is this the one I played back in Jack's garage? If so, this is an awesome bass and I so wish I could afford it. Have a bump instead.....
Hi Paul, yes it is, and thanks for the bump. Link tp pictures now added... Cheers G.
18. Natural stained grain FBass finish, maple neck and ebony board which is an optional extra. Looking for a straight sale @ £1800, not really looking for trades. Its the second F I've owned and they are superb basses, playability and tone. Modern looks, traditional sound, very flexible and musical preamp. Very difficult to get a bad sound from it. Happy to keep it, but you can't keep them all, especially in a small flat!, so time to move on. I prefer the modern tones I get from my MTD and Groove Shoppe basses, although my band mates in the few rehearsals and 1 gig I did with the F preferred the BN5 to the MTD. EDIT for more detail and pictures. - weight is a shade under 9.8 lbs (4.435kgs) according to my digital kitchen scales - ash body, maple neck, ebony fingerboard. - more detail on standard spec of these instruments: http://www.fbass.com/models/model/bn - serial number ends in 0908, which I believe makes it a Sept 2008 bass. - includes a brand-new Hiscox hard case which was bought in order to ship the bass to me. It's remained in the shipping carton ever since. Also some Warwick strap locks, which were already on the bass, and have probably replaced the original FBass strap buttons. - the only other thing of note was that shortly after I received the bass, the neck pickup stopped working. FBass replaced the pickup FOC under warranty in exchange for the original failed part. All the replacement/electronics work was done by Martin Peterson at the Bass Gallery in Camden. - bass is in very nice condition, but it has been a players bass, not a wall hanger, so it does have signs of honest wear - nothing ugly or off putting, and all difficult to get to show up in pictures. Speaking of which here are some initial shots from my phone: https://plus.google....=CIPbx47c5cqZMA EDIT: I just priced this bass up on the FBass web site and it comes out at $3584. By my reckoning that would cost, once shipping and taxes are factored in, around £3000. Cheers G
19. Hello! Just getting this up so it's out there... looking to move this on. Originally bought by me direct from Dave Funk back in 2005. I sold it on, quite a few years ago and I ended up buying it back via the Bass Gallery a few months ago. Comes with "the switch", which was an optional $50 extra at the time, although if I'm honest I could never tell the difference it made to the sound. Comes with the original rack ears which were a $50 extra. There's no original manual. The original rubber feet and side carry handle are also missing. At present it is mounted in one of these: http://www.amazon.co...n/dp/B0002D020S which I will include for an extra £50. It is virtually brand new (bought in Feb and been out of the house a handful of times), . Alternatively I have a metal case that I got from the Gallery to transport it home which you could have for free. Cosmetically in very good condition. There is a slight electrical "hum", but apparently this was a "feature" of these earlier models. It's really quite quiet and only audible at very quiet practice volumes, and doesn't change as you increase the volume on the amp. No worse in fact than my old SWR 350 from back in the day. Lots of love for these on the internet, so you can read reviews etc. Collection only from west London at present. Trades: I wouldn't mind going back to a Mark Bass F500, so if you have one, I would be interested. Also a small light-weight combo would be of interest e.g. PJB Bass Cub, MB Mini Mark etc. Something I could use for acoustic rehearsals that would be easily taken and transported on public transport. 20. thanks chaps, this is now sold, pending the usual.... cheers G.
21. Bought here a few months ago: http://basschat.co.u...m-412-neo-sold/ More info/spec here: http://www.tech-soun...g/12er/412.html Included is a fitted padded cover. Condition of cover and cab is excellent. I did what I intended to do with it, and now it's back up on the block. My drummer friend raved about this, and said it was the best he'd heard. As good as it is, it is a bit too big/overkill for me going forward, and so am looking to downsize slightly. Probably not interested in any trades unless it's an ACME of some description or a Barefaced Big Baby or Big Twin, with cash adjustments where necessary. BTW, the £450 is the "for sale" cash price, which is what I paid for it originally. In a trade I would value it around the £600 mark. EDIT: It is a 4ohm cab EDIT: link to pictures: https://plus.google....CJDrqbzU4Lb42QE
22. mtd 535s have split coils under the covers
23. i played one of these once (with a maple fingerboard), side by side with my Sadowsky Tokyo, and a Celinder J5 Update. The Atelier was a great bass, and my favourite out of the 3.
