lookin' good mate. Is it a flat finish or something?
Cheers! The finish doesn't really show up very well in those pictures unfortunately. It's a partially translucent white finish, so the ash grain is visible in the flesh. when I have my camera back I'll try to get some better pictures up. also, some sound clips of both basses, as I found it impossible to find any showing the difference between the dual coils and fatstacks. I wasn't sure about the looks/colour so much initially, I just knew it would be a damn fine bass. It looked better in the flesh though, and the pimpin' looks goes well with the 70's tone They're not made anymore, which is a real shame, because they play as well as anything I've had my hands on. There's a bit more about their demise on this thread on TB G

I'd just like to share my recent experience of these... I just got some of these Galli strings from The Gallery in Camden - £23 a set. Martin Petersen recommended them, and at the price I thought I'd give them a go. http://www.gallistri...ese/default.asp I've used the nickel (Rock Star) and steel ones (Magic Sound) and they seem pretty nice so far. The nickel set feel a bit smoother under the fingers. Both sets are 45-65-85-105-125 long scale What I like about them so far: - they fit my 35" scale basses with no problem. -the B string has a slight taper (probably down to the same gauge as the E) at the bridge end, which IMO is a good thing for a better string break over the saddle, and also allows the string to vibrate more freely. - both my basses have very good B string tone and definition, and I don't think that has been lost by these strings. Some strings can, IME, can diminish the clarity on the B. - even on the 35" scale, they aren't overly stiff. - the steel strings are not overly bright, and the nickel strings are maybe brighter than some nickel strings I've tried. YMMV blah blah! It will be interesing to see how long they last. And lastly, they remind me quite a bit of DR strings for some reason, but cheaper! Cheers G edited for typos...
I can't believe this is still here. I am desperate for a fretless bass for the studio but this is unfortunately out of my price range. Please someone buy this now - PLEASE!
hey Matt, how's it going? Me neither! You can always make me an offer bump for this. and I will include postage to anywhere in the UK.

continuing a bit of a clear out... I bought this on this forum used (from davidmpires), probably a couple of years ago now. they are awsome cabs, and since I bought this I've also aquired a Acme LowB2 (8ohm), and 2x Low B1 cabs. I don't think it's a conincidence that since I've been using them, I've had a few complements on my tone This cab has been living in a private (clean and tidy!) rehearsal studio for some time, and used for band rehearsals and gigs. However there's a change in circumstances which means we're giving up the rehearsal space, and the cab will be coming back home, where there is not a lot of space. So, I'm keeping the 2xLowB1s mini stack and selling off the B2s. I've already arranged to sell the 8ohm (series 2) cab via a wanted ad on the forum for £325. This is [s]the older series 1[/s] an older series 2 cab (with the bulb in the tweeter protection circuit) so I'll be looking for less. Let's say £295 I'll have it home by next weekend, so it will be available from then, and I'll get some pictures up soon thereafter. This will be collection only from West London, but I'll do some driving too if required. More info can be found here: http://www.acmebass.com/ Specifications Model: Acme Low B-2 Series II Frequency response: +/-3 dB 41Hz to 22 kHz -6 dB at 31 Hz Power Handling: 350 Watts RMS continuous 300 Watts sine wave @ 30.87 Hz Sensitivity: 93 dB 1W/1M Impedance: 4 ohms Dimensions: 23"H x 15.75"W x 16.5"D Weight: 50 lbs / 23.2 kg It's an easy 1 man lift, especially as it's quite compact in size. Full disclosure: It's was recently at the Gallery getting checked over by their amp-tech, as I had some concerns about it, which might just be that it didn't have enough juice to power my Acme B2 cab as the band gradually got louder over time. I received it back with a clean bill of health. Anyway, my Tecamp Puma seems to play better with the Acme cab, and so the MB is up for grabs. It also has the MB padded bag that I bought here on the forum. I'm looking for £540 for it and the case inclusive of shipping in the UK, or £520 collected. I will split the amp and case if the buyer of the amp doesn't want the case. So, £500 for the amp and £40 for the case. It's a cracking amp, which I bought from new at the Gallery back in late January 2009. I've used it regularly, but it has been cased up for most of that time, and so is in excellent cosmetic condition. excuse me if it's been said already, I didn't want to trawl through this whole thread, but my observations so far (not all upgrade related, but the new technology might allow a few things not possible with the old software): - there is no lo-fi text only version now? this was incredibly useful for me on my android phone. now I have to trawl through a lot of unnecessary information, including some user signatures than span a couple of screens on my phone where the actual post content was 1 line!!! - I think the front page is now looking very cluttered. I think it would be improved massively by removing the info on the last post in each section. - removing "off-topic" from the "New Content" lists. I'm afraid I'm not generally interested in what goes on in there, and it's a bass site after all. - back to annoying user signatures, dear oh dear.... please can there be a limit applied to the space taken up by user signatures? I know I can switch off the feature entirely, or selectively ignore specific users, but a) it generally can be a good source of info and I cannot be bothered adding individual users to an ignore list. Some people might as well add the brand of toilet roll they wipe their arse with I hope thats sufficiently constructive Cheers chaps the upgrade went pretty smootly I think. Gwilym
Very nice guy, decisive and no haggling! Communications first class and prompt payment by my preferred method. Perfect buyer, have no worries.
I can't add any more to this other than a BIG +1 Thanks Pearce, hope you get on with the GB! Cheers G

These are great cabs - I currently have 2 of them and 2 B1's so I won't be buying this one I've gigged the 4ohm B2 on its own a few times now (with my Mark Bass F500) and never had a problem getting enough volume (even with no PA support), despite their reputation for having relatively low sensitivity.

I just sold Eamonn my GK MB150 combo. Easy to deal with, no nonsense and would happily deal with him again. Thanks Eamonn, hope you enjoy the amp! Cheers G

The protec cases are good, but I wouldn't put them in the hold of a plane. The skb44 case I would recommend, if you want a proper hard case. I've used them a couple of times on flights with no problems, and they (and the protec) both fit 35" scales, and 1 of the basses has a fairly large/long headstock too.
