"Super high spec pimped Fender P bass guitar" - should I go for it?
Gwilym replied to polvo's topic in Bass Guitars
The action on the E string is certainly not low in that photo. If it's all kosher, I can only assume that he's lifting it up so you can see the "low" action on the A string. Knobs are black with a faux diamond "tip"? Certainly the ad has the whiff of a chancer. -
I see there's a BT6 (modified) just come up for sale at the bass gallery

Never had a problem in London in almost 25years, really nothing to worry about. Probably safer now than ever as it's easier to find transport late at night (night tubes and Uber).

A very nice '93 BT5G 4 knob on UK ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334571862675 for a pretty good price at the moment. (I've no affiliation with the seller)

I don't think there's any specific mojo going on. 20 years ago they barely had a market. Now more sought after than ever?
-
Maybe the seller traded the bass with the shop, or put the bass on a comission sale?

Looking for a strong but lightweight bass flight case

SKB bass safe, if you want the option to put a bass in a gig bag within a protective shell. I have one and it's seems bombproof although I've not used it in anger. I have used the SKB 44 bass case a couple of times over the years for a transatlantic journey. Went in the hold, via usual baggage handlers, and came out the other side unscathed. -

Here's my Smith Now I'm gassing a little for a CR5

2.5k is very punchy price for that. (I recently bought a BT5G for not a great deal more!) The seller seems to think it's a US model just cause KS signature is in the control cavity, but I think that's just cause he did the setup/QC on them. Still it's an early-ish Burner model with the older headstock shape. What's the difference on the Burner pickups vs the US pickups?

Anyone know the difference between the HF and CR models? Apart from the HR being built/assembled in Japan.

Don't think anybody mentioned 4Hero yet. Thier "Creating Patterns" is a great record, more song based, and slightly less one dimensional than a lot (of the club based tracks). Photek's "Modus Operandi" and Goldie's "Timeless" also bear repeated listening. L.T.J. Bukem's "Logical Progression" compilation was also a favourite of mine back in the day, for the "intelligent" d'n'b vibe. -
Barefaced Two10, pretty much mint with cover. - *SOLD*

Bass drop tuning pedal, which one you’ll recommend?
Gwilym replied to BasistaFunky's topic in Effects
Maybe something like a fingerboard extension down to the low D would work, like done on Kubicki basses, all the notes remaining in the same position but you get 2 extra frets beyond the "nut" when you need them. Seems to me that the least ballache solution is to use a tuner pedal to tune DGCF and then all your patterns are the same. Or use your 5 string. Or how about asking the guitarist in question to tune to E? Maybe do it yourself when he's not looking, he probably won't notice.
