1.
Good call on the Pitch Black - best tuner I have had, tiny current draw when not in use, and true bypass (to which it also defaults when the power goes down).
Wasn't sure following multiple recommendations on this forum for Boss and TC, so pleased to get your feedback. Must say that I was impressed with it anyway after unpacking it (looks/feels bomb-proof) and first gig.
2.
It lets you have one less link in your signal chain, and if the tuner output is buffered and always on, will allow you to keep the tuner on permanently whilst you play. Which might be useful for long sustained notes on fretless!
Thanks for that Danny.
3. Me too! Certainly not a make I'd buy based on their current s-s offering.
4. OK, so we're two-thirds of the way there - darn useful these things! "]http:// Just reading stuff on volume pedals and I see some of them have a dedicated socket for a tuner - what's the difference between using that and just having everything daisy-chained in series?
5.
Wish i'd the cash for this...
If you're playing the lottery this week I'll have my fingers crossed for you!
6. Come on guys - I see Scott's sold his!
7. Thanks guys - looks like a TU-3 and Pedaltrain Nano with rechargeable power supply! The Zoom looks brilliant but way too complicated for me.
8. OK, so I've finally succumbed to 'pedal envy' and decided it's time to drag my ass into the 21st century (or even 20th??). Nothing extravagant mind - I've just bought the Bass Soul Food overdrive from Electro Harmonix, to which I plan to add a chromatic tuner and volume pedal. Questions: The Boss TU-3 seems to be a good bet but it looks expensive at only tenner below the Soul Food price - if all I want is a basic tuner, am I paying for stuff I don't need? Then, can anybody recommend a good volume pedal? And finally I'll need a small board/case to suit - maybe with enough room for future expansion. (From zero to a 4 pedals? Surely not!). Cheers guys.
9. That's beautiful and re-awakens the adolescent desires I had for semi-acoustic basses (especially Rivolis) back in the '60s.
10. OK, £50 price drop to £545. You guys don't know what you're missing - as Scott Whitley says in the demo vid I've linked above, this is the best 'off the peg' s-s bass out there. If it weren't for my shoulder injury, it's the last thing I'd be selling!
11. Under offer.
12. I was so impressed with my fretted SWB-1 that I bought this ash-bodied passive with flight case from Scott in Spring for a one-off fretless project. Offered in totally as-new condition, this lovely bass is an easy player thanks to its compact, light-weight design, 30.75" scale length, slim neck and flat-wound strings. Buy new today and you'll be paying £508! That's real value for money, so my price must be a bargain. "]http:// "]http:// My asking price is collected but I can arrange delivery at cost.
13. What's the scale length?
14. Thanks for that lojo - interesting indeed and I enjoyed looking thru all the rest on their website.
15. Bump time for this excellent bass!
16. Really surprised this excellent TE rig hasn't gone - good luck on 'the bay'.
17. Loving it - every bit!
18. I hope this link turns 2 people on: one to buy my Rascal, and the other to buy Scott's (preferably in that order ). http://www.shortscalebass.co.uk/product/fender-rascal-short-scale-bass/
19. That's exactly what it is - and some companies will doubtless take the opportunity to hike the prices of their pre-Brexit stock in anticipation of the higher cost-prices they'll soon be paying.
20. Just sold Kristo one of my basses; a very smooth transaction and a pleasure doing business with this basschatter.
21. If you're looking for a unique bass that offers all the playability of a short-scale while retaining the 'presence', balance and substantial feel of a 34" standard, then this is for you. That, plus a unique pup/control set-up that allows rapid switching between a wide range of tones, is why I couldn't wait to get one as soon as I heard about them. The custom-shop design and colour are obviously a subjective thing, but personally I love the way it looks too (sorry, only group pic available but I'll take some more). Here's the spec: Scale length - 30"; Construction - maple body / neck; Fretboard - 9.5"-radius rosewood with 21 medium jumbo frets; Width at nut: 42mm; PUPs - 3 x Seymour Duncan 'lipstick-tube' Strats; Controls - volume, tone, 5-position Strat-type switch with push/pull knob enabling 7 pick-up combinations. Condition (including hard case) is mint/as new with no sign of wear as this bass hasn't been played much. So why would anybody want to sell what is probably the best bass they have ever owned? Only because they have a dodgy shoulder for which 9 1/2lbs is about a kilo too much nowadays - and I'm really pissed off about it. https://www.youtube....h?v=molxHHbKqbA Price is collected / delivered within a reasonable distance from Taunton.
