  1. Yep, we all know about Sod's law. Bad luck Dave!
  2. Offered as received new from Anderton's in Feb 2021 with Mesa gig bag, user manual and original packaging. Amp and bag are absolutely mint. If you put mine next to one straight off the Mesa production line, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Not many of these made their way to Europe before the the covid window shut, and it hasn't re-opened yet. My experience bears out the widely held view that the TT-800 is in a league of its own. Twin 'Boogie' and 'Subway' channels, each with its own voice and full control-set including gain and volume - and even selectable HPF; master volume control; bright & deep boost buttons; output overdrive symmetry control; USB power socket... suffice to say that the functionality, build quality and tonal range are exceptional. I'm only selling because nowadays I gig through a single LFSys Monaco FRFR 600W-rated *Ohm cab and have bought a 1000W amp that delivers 600W into 8Ohms for the extra headroom I need in my LOUD rock band. Price doesn't include delivery but I'm happy to meet at a mutually convenient place for handover or pack for collection provided buyer arranges and pays for courier.
  3. Just sold my faultless HandBox R-400 to Riki. Otherwise smooth transaction was marred when Riki reported a rattling noise from the amp on arrival. He was kind enough to investigate and found the top screws fixing the case to the chassis had worked loose, presumably in transit. Drama avoided, top bloke. Thanks for keeping your cool Riki 🙂
  4. Just bought a nice RM800 from Bill. Flawless transaction in every respect, so I can thoroughly recommend to other Basschat members.
  5. Knew I could count on you for a parting shot Rich, and you haven't let me down. 😊 Hopefully not Nicola... 😬
  6. OK, okay, I'm o-fish-ally calling thyme on the Pescatarian Society's marine-life puns competition! I know we've all had a whale of a time but anyone posting further submissions will be skating on thin ice and risk getting salted and battered at the Bash on the 8th of Octopus. After careful consideration, the prize goes to Rich for so consistently and effectively rising to the bait.
  7. Boy band? We should be so lucky!
  8. Correct! I did an edit to let anyone see it before re-posting link. Just checked and it's still showing as accessible to anyone - which it was for a while. I give in! Don't worry everybody, you're not missing much 🤣
  9. All info on Wateroftyne's HandBox topic IIRC.
  10. OK, let's try again with video from Saturday night! Silverback at Porlock Weirfest 2023
  11. Thanks Bill, beats me! Not very good at this stuff but will try and find another way.
  12. One of our fave annual gigs - Porlock Weirfest - came round again last night. Nothing beats watching the sun go down over the sea from up on stage at The Bottom Ship. Glasto? You can keep it 😊 Mrs Scrumpy took the video just after nipping into the pub. This was as close to the stage as she could get when she came back. At least you're spared our ugly mugs. Not played SOF for a while but the crowd were hollering for it. Shame we didn't all start from the same place 😐 Watch closely for proof of the curative power of music; the guy who arrived on crutches is now waving them above his head! I'm trying to remember how to do a link that everyone can share... Silverback wrap Porlock Weirfest 2023
  13. Ouch! That's even worse than a filleted headache.
  14. I think it's time we stopped carping on about fish.
  15. Cod, it certainly does! It's part of the latest sea-food diet... 'see food and eat it!' (darn, the second half of the joke doesn't work when you write it down).
  16. Cannot tell a lie - it's all Mrs Scrumpy's work. Actually, she's done loads of covers for my stuff and saved us a fortune. If you're carrying stuff in your own car, doubled-up curtain material from a charity shop does the job nicely, even for small cab's.
  17. And then there's the bass stuff too!!
  18. Ha-ha! We do both and I usually try and get the audience started on the overhead clapping thing. With varying degrees of success.
  19. Played the Royal British Legion Club in Watchet last night. Had to load in/out from 200yds away using 4-wheel flatbed trolley provided by the venue. Apart from that, it's a decent gig and last night's audience showed their appreciation in the usual way - by getting drunk and falling over 😊. Re audiences, the trend we're noticing is that, despite allegedly being the best rock covers band in the county, we're playing to smaller crowds nowadays. Thankfully, while the audiences are going down, our money is going up - figure that one out!? Much less job satisfaction though. No matter, as I had other "reasons to be cheerful". First, we nailed it. Second, this was my first gig with the Ampeg SVT-700 PRO recently bought from Basschat member Paul_S and I love it! Reason for buying is that it delivers 600W into a single 8Ohm cab. Works a treat with my FRFR Monaco cab manufactured by BC member Stevie's company LFSys and my custom bass built by BC member Andyjr1515. LONG LIVE BASSCHAT!!
  20. Just seen your last message. No worries, at least we've got the detailed measurements out there 😊
  21. As viewed sitting flat like you use it, the overall dim's are: H=12.5cms; W=44cms; D= 34cms. Removing front cover reduces D by 5cms Removing rubber feet reduces H and/or W by 1.5cms If you remove the feet from the bottom, the spring-loaded carry handle will sit just less than 1.5cms below the bottom surface of the case.
  22. Well done guys, you beat me to it!
  23. As Clarky says, plenty loud enough into 4 Ohms for any venue you're likely to play without a house PA. Bought this when I was playing through 2 x 8Ohm cab's as a back-up for my Mesa TT-800 and it was fine. The only reason I'm selling is that nowadays I'm using a single LFSys Monaco 8Ohm cab which effectively halves the power output of the amp. Fyi, there's a dedicated HandBox topic on here started by Wateroftyne. Not trying to persuade you btw 🙂
  24. One of the main issues I have after 55 years of gigging is the discomfort caused by the stretch and contact with the bottom edge of the board whenever I reach across to stop the E and A strings on the lower frets. This Torzal makes a lot of sense for me but is so eye-wateringly expensive that I'm kinda wishing its twisted neck had remained below my horizon - especially as I see that custom scale lengths are available at extra cost. Stop leading me astray Bernard! 😉
