  1. I'm putting this exotic and extremely rare beast up for sale as I'm not really a fretless player and got it for a one-off project. Price is less than half of what it cost and therefore firm. It's impossible to overstate just how impressive these unique, UK-made electro-acoustic basses are - IMHO nothing else comes close and other owners say the same. Suffice to say that, at the 2019 Summer NAMM in Nashville, Bass Gear mag declared the Contour 'Best Bass in Show' despite never even having heard of Gillett Guitars before they visited the company's stand! This one is in excellent condition with only a few faint witness marks showing it's used - nothing you could call a ding, scratch or scuff. Price includes a reasonably durable gig bag and I'd strongly prefer either for the buyer to collect (we're 10 min's from J25 M5) or meet me for handover somewhere between Bristol and Exeter. However, if a buyer insists on shipping (UK only) and is willing to arrange/pay for carriage, I will look at getting a hard case at extra cost. Here's a short-list of key features: Rosewood body; maple ‘C’-section neck — 41mm (1.6”) at nut, 54mm (2.13”) at 12th fret; sculpted ergonomic recesses for fore-arm and rib-cage/beer gut; single active neck pick-up; thru-body stringing; adjustable nut; medium scale length = 31.75"; weight = 3.75kg.
  2. It really is something special.
  3. Ohhhh no! I'm in love - again!
  4. Both shirts also work well as a base layer worn with other garments. Then you just print the front and back images of the shirt design that I posted above and pin them onto your outer garment.
  5. AWDis style JT100 - 100% cotton-pickin' cotton.
  6. T-shirts appeal!! Christmas is coming (allegedly) so just a little reminder to those who didn't make it to the Bash that we still have combat-green T-shirts for sale in sizes M, L and XL for £20 inc p&p. We got stocked-up based on previous years' attendances and are currently still massively out of pocket as a result. Obviously, we accept that the risk was ours and we're not asking anyone to buy something they don't want. However, if you REALLY DO want one, just ping me a PM 🙂 I'll wait a while and then see if I can post the remainder FS under 'other items' but not sure whether brand-new stuff can be sold on there - any idea Richie?
  7. That's a beautiful bass!
  8. Just had a cuppa and nice chat with GrahamT. We met up to exchange a large T-shirt for an XL - not saying which way round 😉. Let's hope we get a spell of weather next year like the one we're just enjoying so we can have lunch al fresco.
  9. OK, so just started a new topic for next year's Bash with a post confirming details of date and venue. The formula will be more of the same - including the rhubarb crumble 😋 Over and out!!
  10. OK, so this is me starting a new topic for next year's Bash ☺️ The hall is booked for Sunday, October 9th, 2022 - so get that date in your diaries! The Memorial Hall, Cheddon Fitzpaine, Rowford, TAUNTON, TA2 8JY https://www.cheddonfitzpainevillagehall.co.uk/ (The picture below shows the entrance to the hall driveway but the old lodge is a private house)
  11. Jabba's Build Diaries are enjoyed by many on this forum and his beautiful creations are always a big draw at our S-W Bass Bashes . His basses with their distinctive headstocks are easily recognisable to those in the know and the quality of his work is just stunning.
  12. That's a tasty piece of hardware.
  13. Wise move - I've found that weights do often vary from spec 🙂
  14. It probably doesn't, and if they don't that's what I'll do. Just saying that in the past Sylvia has beaten me to it 🙂
  15. For me probably the best 'buzz' comes from playing on home turf to a bunch of friendly faces, mostly ones you recognise. That's what we got last night and it was a blast. This was a fundraiser organised by me and Mrs. Scrumpy for our wonderful village hall - well known to some of you as the venue for our S-W Bass Bashes. The band played for free as promised in return for freebie practices in the hall during covid. So no money for us but £717 clear profit for the hall and a bunch of very happy punters who danced and hammered the cash bar all night. My old school mate Malc who lives locally saw me in Silverback for the first time and was deeply impressed, especially with our ZZ Top covers. Hopefully impressed enough to give his cousin Billy Gibbons (honest!) a ring to recommend me as Dusty's replacement. Life's good ☺️
  16. Probably. This normally seems to happen as if by magic through the mysterious intervention of Sylvia Bluejay - hope I've got the name right this time 😉
  17. Saw her at the Hammersmith Odeon - she played a blinder!
  18. The last time I saw a headstock like that was on something I was playing in a primary school music lesson. Hopefully the tuning machines are geared to allow easy turning of those diddly little pegs with sweaty fingers. Actually, I have nothing but love for these quirky, great sounding basses... no, really! ☺️
  19. See if they'll swap it for one of Jack Bruce's or Andy Fraser's discarded Gibbo's which I will then swap you for the latest T-shirt in your size 🙂
  20. Yes, I popped in when someone (can't remember whether it was you or Richie) was putting it through its paces. Very impressive.
  21. Bash T-shirts Just confirming that all mail-order T-shirts were sent out today by first-class post. If you're expecting one and it hasn't arrived by Friday, ping me a PM.
