CORONAVIRUS Just thought I'd better open up a 'C' debate re the Bash. Clearly we are all desperately keen to have one (Bash not virus) on April 5th but my current feeling is that postponement may be the sensible option. What do you all think?? In any event, I'll have to make a final decision by the end of next week latest and post accordingly. As you will realise, we'll have to avoid a situation where we decide to go ahead but nobody turns up!! -

Lakland Skyline Hollowbody 30 inch scale
scrumpymike replied to Alberto Rigoni's topic in Bass Guitars
Ah, so that's the discontinued 34" hollowbody. Like I said, confusing if you don't know that. When you click on 'MORE IMAGES' under the main pic, all images are of the 34" design too. -

Confusing! Just been on Lakland's website which seems to confirm that there are two different body styles with the same model name. -

Is that a cut-price version made outside the US? -

I like this a lot but not sure that the sunburst finish works with the body shape. -
Yes. I had the same problem with my custom Elwood due to a combination of cheesy strap-button screws and the fact that they had been fitted at a ridiculous angle (one around 20 degrees, the other around 30 degrees off perpendicular). The result was that, when fitted/tightened in the M workshops, the screws had bent at the body surface, where they were forced perpendicular as the screw head was tightened into the strap-button indent. The extreme dog-leg shape of the screw fixing the bottom button meant it broke as soon as I tried to remove it for a strap-lock upgrade. Luckily I did this before gigging the bass as there's every chance the screw would have broken while playing. Getting the remains of it out of the wood was a tricky job.

That should fit the bill.

Hi Cuzzie, hope you can make it. It's worth it just for the food - the bass stuff is a bonus! 😋 -
Had mine for a few weeks/gigs and loving it! Great piece of kit that's well designed and solidly built.

Sounds like a busy weekend - see you next year! -
I use Alpine attenuating ear-plugs, or rather just one in my left ear that is drummer-side 😉. This works for me. I still keep the vibe and my right ear seems none the worse for being un-plugged. The Alpines I chose were bought for motorcycling but they also do music-specific ones that will presumably be better. I've stopped biking so I'll try those next time.

Back out treading the boards last night (yes, we actually had a stage!). It's been a month since our last gig on New Year's eve so a few amnesia-induced fumbles were expected - and duly delivered. At least I wasn't the only culprit. Good gig though with a decent venue on the water's edge and a good crowd who were more than up for it. Come half-time, the stunning young lady who's been dancing energetically in front of the stage unexpectedly sidles up for a chat. "That bass is beautiful and I love your sound! I'm a bass player myself - a bad one though. I really LOVE the bass - tonight I'm here just for you." This is the point where back in the day I would have thought my luck had surely changed, but last night a quick reality check reminded me that a) she had been dancing with her boyfriend and b) I was old enough to be her grandad (and may even be 😉). However, this mattered not one jot, and the spring I have in my step today will be with me for some time. OK, the three encores were a factor too.

Mr Pink - My Level 42 tribute band. Promo video.

Great vid/performance/music! I'll look out for a Mr Pink gig next time I'm up visiting my daughter in Dunfermline 🙂 -
Obviously can't judge scale from the pic's but the row of knobs on the Fusion S looks pretty tightly packed in - especially if they're like my MB Fusion 800, which turn if you sneeze in their general direction.

If they are anything like the plastic knobs on my MB Fusion 800 you can add 'slack' to 'wiggly'. When you turn them there's no resistance whatsoever to the point of feeling disconnected. These controls belong on something cheap and nasty - GK stuff certainly ain't cheap and is otherwise not nasty.
