  1. I've just gone back through this topic and 'liked' everything! Being one myself, I like people who dare to be different - and I think all the posters on this topic qualify ๐Ÿ˜
  2. Here's my s-s ACG Border Reiver: http://
  3. "And the pickup combinations? Bridge Bridge+middle Middle Neck+middle Neck Neck+bridge Neck+middle+bridge That should distract @scrumpymike enough while the rest of his band is trying to get through their repertoire " Although the original Fender Rascal didn't work for me due to the quirky body, I absolutely loved the unique pick-up/switching configuration - which is why I decided to have 2 custom versions made from the original Rascal. Every position gives a distinctly different but equally giggable tone, and I use them all in our classic rock set. Looking forward to seeing how the 'budget' Artec pick-ups and Eden neck compare with the OE Seymour Duncans and Fender neck. Both were ruled out of this Mkll build on the grounds of cost and availability. Another great job Andy, this just looks so darn coooool ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  4. They do, and it's a fairly easy DIY job on the metal-grille cab - but the kit costs ยฃ100!
  5. Outstanding craftsmanship, looks fantastic and I bet sounds just as good! Btw both my Andyjt1515 custom-builds have the neck inserts - definitely the way to go.
  6. Fyi, the original unswitched cab is 4ohms not 12 so if you go for the older/cheaper design you'll be getting max output from your amp with a single cab. The only reason to go for the newer switchable 'S' cab is if you want to link 2 or 3 together but don't have an amp that runs at 2ohms. I've got a pair of 'S' cabs that I normally use together set to 12ohms. The combined 6ohm impedance is more than loud enough for pub gigs in my rock band with very heavy-handed drummer using my 800W amp with volume at 12. In fact, it would still be loud enough for most gigs using a single cab still set at 120hms - 4ohms delivering the full 800W would be a bit marginal for a single Two 10.
  7. What a little gem is this! I have a lovely ACG Border Reiver I bought from Grant a while back and can thoroughly recommend him as a top bloke. Happy New Year Grant and GLWTS!
  8. This is indeed a beautiful, reasonably-priced bass for someone. Not for me as I play only short-scale nowadays.
  9. If the next job is the bathroom, I'm surprised you didn't manage to stretch this one out a bit longer - to around April ๐Ÿ˜Š
  10. What complete and utter nonsense is that?!
  11. Thanks Stewie, decided to order both sizes as they're so cheap and I'm sure the other one will come in handy for something.
  12. No, I think you'll find that Andy holds that one ๐Ÿ˜‰ Seriously though, I know that Adrian Maruszczyk sells lots of them so I'd like to think we're safe - famous last words!!
  13. Thanks Stewie. Just followed your link and they offer 2 'Asian sizes' - 5" or 6". Do you remember which size you got?
  14. Class act Andy, just like my Rascal Mervyn-Lyte Mkl. One of the things that deeply impressed me, and impresses others, about the Gillett Contour basses is the 3 dinky little machine screws with inserts that hold the truss-rod cover in place. As with the Wal, these details really give the impression of quality. Just go steady with my invoice though ๐Ÿ˜‰
  15. My G75 arrives tomorrow. Question for those who already have one: not quite sure what the standard fixing arrangement is for the transmitter but is it good enough or should be thinking about getting a separate holster?
  16. Nice one Muzz, I can relate to all of that. As you say, the trick is knowing when it's time to "pack up and feck off" ๐Ÿ™‚
  17. Thanks to all for info, just ordered a G75 for ยฃ159 from Andertons ๐Ÿ‘
  18. Good stuff Andy, I'm really chuffed with the way this is turning out - and a Happy New Year to you too!
  19. ... or me to my Linear AC30! It lived in a metal cage and administered mild electric shocks to the unwary.
  20. A good gig has always been my favourite way of seeing the New Year in, and that's exactly what I did last night with my 3 band-mates in Silverback. The venue was one of our fave's, Kildare Lodge in Minehead. The landlord and landlady are good people who love our classic rock set, the money was decent, and we had a good crowd who were all up for it. The sound was good and tight, the craic was right, and after Auld Lang Syne followed by several encores, the landlord insisted we play his favourite Whiskey In The Jar again!! With around two-and-a-half hours of 2020 on the clock, I hit the sack a happy man thinking (not for the first and hopefully not the last time): "Money just can't buy this much fun!!" ๐Ÿ˜Š
  21. That's a fine collection. Love the way you've displayed them as works of art - which is exactly what they are.
