  1. Agreed, but unfortunately some had already left by the time I remembered to ask photographer Richard. Should have done it just before lunch - I'll try and get it right next time 😐
  2. And now for some moving pictures, one of which is a 'talkie', even! 😮 https://photos.app.goo.gl/3cVkUdz8mHt6YVGq6 https://youtu.be/x4_ZYet2bvs Don't know about you guys, but we're still on a high here!
  3. Well, what can one say - except yesterday's event was the best of an already good bunch!! In case anyone thinks I'm being a bit immodest, I hasten to add that all the credit for that goes not to me (my bit was easy and spread over a period of time) but rather to the Scrumpettes, Big Graham, photographer Richard, Frank Blank (who came to our aid this year and worked like a Trojan during set-up), our great sponsors - and, last but definitely not least, you lovely bunch of guys. BTW, hall booked for Sunday April 5th 2020 and the next 4 years after that 😊 Richard sent me a link with pic's (video to follow). They are great and hopefully I can now insert the link - here goes: https://bigfatswbassbash.weebly.com/ PS Embedded in the group shots is one rather 'cheeky' one 😂 - such a shy, retiring character that Frank!!
  4. Home-made apple / apple & rhubarb crumbles ☺️
  5. Last last thing - the hall only has diddly cups & saucers (!?). We've assembled a fair number of mugs including around a dozen remaining 'official' Bash ones for sale at £5 each. However if you want to be guaranteed a mug (doesn't everybody??) bring one of your own that you'll recognise. e.g. last year's Bash mug that already has your name written on the bottom in permanent marker. Off to tonight's gig now, see you soon! M
  6. Good to see that the word is spreading 🙂 - see you Sunday!
  7. Here are some DIRECTIONS TO THE VENUE: The BIG FAT South-West Bass Bash is happening THIS SUNDAY, Sunday 7th, from 10am-4pm in the Memorial Hall, Cheddon Fitzpaine, nr Taunton TA2 8JY The hall is about a mile out of Cheddon Village a few hundred metres from the school on the edge of a small hamlet called Rowford. The safest way is to follow your satnav. If you don't have one, the easiest way out of Taunton is: head up Station Road towards the railway station, which will be on your right just after you pass under the 2 bridges. Just into the one-way system at the T-junction with traffic lights at the top of the hill, turn right but immediately keep left and turn left at the next traffic lights. You're now on Cheddon Road, which takes you right to the village hall entrance in a couple of miles on your right (it's on the bend at the junction as pictured below just after you pass the village school on the left). NOTE: Taking this route out of Taunton doesn't take you through Cheddon village itself. In case of need, my mobile number is 07770 946135 http://
  8. Agreed! I'm particularly pleased that we've got Chowny back on board too. Stephen has put together a great range of basses including choices for short-scale players like myself.
  9. LAST-MINUTE STUFF If you have a long, cable-extension reel, can you please bring it along? We need to make sure we have enough to network power around the tables in the hall, so rather too many than not enough. Thanks!
  10. There won't many who can name the guy that cut down the tree their bass is made from!
  11. Welcome! Look forward to seeing you and your gear. Just turn up and pay your £10 on the door - covers all food and drinks.
  12. Hi Witters! Just pay on arrival and please bring what you've suggested (the self-build 12"-cab boys may wish to borrow your Eden cab for a while to include in their 'shootout' comparison line-up). I've added you and your stuff to the listing on p6.
  13. Thoroughly recommended. I had one for a while just to see how I got on with a fretless. The bass was fantastic but I wasn't ☹️
  14. As Frank B has already posted, just turn up between the hours of 10am and 4pm, pay your £10 on the door (covers food and drink) and claim some table-top/floor space if you have anything to display (subject to availability). This is how things looked last year (last shot shows the self-build 12" cab session in progress in the adjacent meeting room used as a quiet(ish) controlled environment):
  15. That's the best thing about the Bash - there's plenty of people ready to lead us astray 😉
