  1. ... like this one in fact: Spin Doctors - Little Miss Can't Be Wrong
  2. There's been lots of them out there - including some more obscure ones that wouldn't immediately spring to mind - like this one: The Faces - I'm Losin' You Any more for any more? I've got a few...
  3. Alex at BF will give you proper advice re pairing with your AC50 - and doubtless let you try his demo cabs if you're anywhere near Brighton. (If you're anywhere near Taunton, you can try mine.)
  4. Cripes - yet another Barefaced user checking in! I use a couple of Super Compact Gen 3 cabs - each is 8ohms, of compact size, weighs 11kg, will handle 600 'clean' watts, and has a single high-performance 12" driver. I also have the BF Two10 that has the 'retro' voicing - 4ohms, 14kg, up to 500w. The minimum recommended wattage for these two cabs is 150 and 100 respectively, so I'm not sure how they would work with your AC50 - although I would guess you should be fine as the amp is a valver and the drivers BF use are highly efficient. These cabs typically come up FS on here at £400-£500. BCH also a nice, as-new Aguilar cab on here at the moment - which I mention because I know him and I know it's right.
  5. Hi Wotcher. Just a couple of observations from a s-s (30") player. Changing to a lighter-gauge set will tend to give you 'floppier' strings. It may also affect the way the strings 'speak' if the nut slots no longer hold the strings firmly. There will be less tension on the neck too, which may well reduce neck relief and cause borderline fret buzz. In all cases, the E string is likely to suffer most. Fyi, my gig bass still has its OE strings, which I measured at 038/059/074/094" (probably Fender Super Bass 5250XL with nominal gauges of 040/060/075/095"). I play in a rock-covers band tuned down to Eb and my bass sounds great - even the open E has good dynamics.
  6. That looks like one heck of a bargain for someone on here - GLWTS!
  7. Not surprised it's called a 'Cannon' - I bet that's got some fire-power. A lovely looking bass too. GLWTS
  8. That's a very desirable rig for somebody out there! Nice review by Dood too.
  9. Fyi, turned out that a few top-end frets needed levelling - now done and much improved.
  10. Sorry to hear that Frank! Nothing reported so far but I'll ask the caretaker just in case.
  11. SOLD!! Superb example of this blindingly good amp in perfect condition having spent its life in a Gator 2U flight case (included in sale together with foot-switch). Triple tube preamp, 560W into 8 ohms, 800W into 4 ohms. http:// I can send more pic's on request - but all you'll see is what looks like a new amp 🙂 No trades thanks.
  12. I've been lucky enough to play this one!! I know £1800 is not a trivial amount but for this rare beauty it's a steal IMHO.
  13. Ahhhh yes, 'the maelstrom' is the excuse I can offer for missing that - "I'd like 23 similar offences taken into account m'lud" 🙄
  14. +1 - fantastic effort - pleased and proud that the Bash provides a forum for this.
  15. We were wondering what happened to you Stewie!?
  16. Fabulous kit - I love my Magellan 800!! GLWTS
  17. Agreed, but unfortunately some had already left by the time I remembered to ask photographer Richard. Should have done it just before lunch - I'll try and get it right next time 😐
  18. And now for some moving pictures, one of which is a 'talkie', even! 😮 https://photos.app.goo.gl/3cVkUdz8mHt6YVGq6 https://youtu.be/x4_ZYet2bvs Don't know about you guys, but we're still on a high here!
  19. Well, what can one say - except yesterday's event was the best of an already good bunch!! In case anyone thinks I'm being a bit immodest, I hasten to add that all the credit for that goes not to me (my bit was easy and spread over a period of time) but rather to the Scrumpettes, Big Graham, photographer Richard, Frank Blank (who came to our aid this year and worked like a Trojan during set-up), our great sponsors - and, last but definitely not least, you lovely bunch of guys. BTW, hall booked for Sunday April 5th 2020 and the next 4 years after that 😊 Richard sent me a link with pic's (video to follow). They are great and hopefully I can now insert the link - here goes: https://bigfatswbassbash.weebly.com/ PS Embedded in the group shots is one rather 'cheeky' one 😂 - such a shy, retiring character that Frank!!
  20. Home-made apple / apple & rhubarb crumbles ☺️
  21. Last last thing - the hall only has diddly cups & saucers (!?). We've assembled a fair number of mugs including around a dozen remaining 'official' Bash ones for sale at £5 each. However if you want to be guaranteed a mug (doesn't everybody??) bring one of your own that you'll recognise. e.g. last year's Bash mug that already has your name written on the bottom in permanent marker. Off to tonight's gig now, see you soon! M
