  1. Pretty sure it's a Maruszczyk one available online from https://public-peace.de/shop I've got a couple myself and they're great!
  2. That's great news Stephen - you and your lovely Chowny basses will be more than welcome. I'll phone you in the New Year.
  3. Thanks all - it's shaping up to be another good one!! Mrs. Scrumpy is already planning the menu 😊
  4. Realised I made a mistake moving my Cazpar on, so I'm buying one that's FS on this forum. Seller Tomasz is serial Mensinger buyer (their biggest private customer apparently) and, as he lives near the factory, offered to have them inspect the Cazzie and e-mail me a report - which brings me to the point of this post. How nice is this e-mail they sent me this morning - talk about going the extra mile! Dear Sir! This Headless Cazpar has been custom made by our company in 2018 for Mr.Tomasz F. On his request it has been examined by our experts and in our opinion this item is genuine and free of any damage in excellent mint condition. We are very glad that You have chosen Mensinger brand. We put our hearts into every guitar we made ; hope it will serve You well for a long time. Best Regards Mensinger Office Sabina K And here it is - can't wait to get my hands on it! http://
  5. Well done, you shouldn't go far wrong with that (but see below). I had one and now have a Squier Jag s-s - equally good IMO but the TMB30 balances better on the strap due to more compact/lighter head-stock. Just a word of warning - I recently ordered another TMB30 but ended up exchanging it for the Jag because when I received the Ibby it was a mess (dirty scuff-marks and what looked like water damage on the head-stock). Even on their cheap basses, Ibby quality is normally perfect (as it was on my first one) so send yours back if it's anything less.
  6. Looks like Christmas is coming early to some lucky standard-scale fretless player! Unfortunately, I don't qualify on both counts ☹️
  7. Bump - lovely Christmas present for someone this is 🙂
  8. OK, here's some stock shots. Bit of a cop-out I know but attempts to take some pic's of my bass today failed miserably. It's a tricky finish to capture and my normal method of using available light outdoors wasn't an option - there wasn't any (well, not enough) ☹️ http://
  9. Just joined the ranks of Spector owners. Being a short-scale player, and not being able to afford a US Shorty, it had to be a Bantam. Very nice too, especially in Trans Black, although I'm still getting used to the neck that is wider and flatter than I've played before. Gave it its first run out at last Saturday's gig and the other guys in the band (classic rock covers) liked it too - it certainly stands up for itself in the mix. I'll grab a pic or 2.
  10. Must give this one a bump as I've just bought a Bantam in Trans Black and am loving it!!
  11. Really pleased for you after such a grim experience.
  12. Lovely piece of kit - great buy for someone who's after a semi-acoustic. GLWTS
  13. Yes folks, it's official! Flushed by our previous successes in '17 and '18, we're going for the hat-trick. The location will be the same (The Memorial Hall TA2 8JY just outside Cheddon Fitzpaine village), the format the same or similar (suggestions for improvements welcomed from previous bashers), the price is £10 including all you can eat and drink. YOU KNOW ABOUT THE CATERING - if not from experience then by reputation (this is really a gourmet blow-out with a Bass Bash tagged on as an afterthought). This post is just to get the ball rolling with a date for your diaries - watch this space for more details! In the meantime, if you've already decided you're coming cos you know how good it is, just let me know and I'll start the list. Yippeeee - something to look forward to during the cold and miserable winter months 😍
  14. I've not used the amp in anger yet. I'm sticking with my Subway 800 til I get chance to try the Fusion out in a rehearsal, which we haven't had since I got it (too busy gigging 😎). I'll post soonest.
  15. Selling this top-class amp which should be good for another decade's service (or several) following a recent overhaul by V Amps (Pete Searle). There's been lots on this forum about the wonderful Eden signature tone and this one's a great example if that's what you're after. Price includes an alu case with one-piece fitted high-density foam insert. http://[/url] I don't want to ship this so buyers within a sensible distance of Taunton please who can either collect or meet me half way.
  16. OK, so far you've only seen the official sofa pic taken by Mr M himself prior to delivery. Here's some more detail shots taken by me: http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http://
  17. Fyi I'm liking the Jag very much indeed - so much so that I may even invest in a set of ultra-light machine heads to correct the slight neck imbalance. They're expensive but I'll remove them if/when I sell the bass.
  18. That's going to be a real beauty Andy!!
  19. Sorry Grangur, my topic posted in haste (see why below) was aimed at those - if there are any - who could answer from experience; and my 's-s' stood for 'short-scale' btw. My active/passive confusion was compounded by the fact that the picture used on the Andertons website to illustrate the 'active' 4-string was actually of a 5-string bass. Anyway, by the time I got the answer from Andertons on the phone this morning ("Yes, the 4-string is available in active and passive versions and yes, we've show a 5-string by mistake."), the B-grade active example that Thomann were listing with a hefty £100 discount yesterday had already sold. Dohhh! OK, so now you all know everything you never wanted to know on this subject - I'll get my coat 😉
