  1. Given all the circumstances, it's probably the best possible Fleetwood Mac.
  2. Not a bad effort but Neil Finn doesn't have the attack and edge of LB at his best - mind you neither does Buckingham himself nowadays. Interesting to note that he's effectively been replaced by 3 guitarists. BTW, what bass is Mr McVie playing here? In this mix sounds a bit woolly for The Chain IMO.
  3. Okay, I'll see if I can sort something.
  4. 'Thrust' appears to be some sort of fancy compression. Even though I sold it, I liked my BH550 - the onboard tuner and Toneprint were handy.
  5. Top marks Andy - really pleased for you and Len_derby!
  6. Hi again El_JimBob, just an observation based on your last post. If a quality truss-rod has been correctly fitted and used (however frequently), there's no reason why it should seize.
  7. That's just not acceptable. Like I said before, he's walking on thin ice and needs to give customer complaints-handlng to a professional. If further proof were needed that Adrian himself does not have the necessary skills, then you've just provided that proof. I wouldn't now buy another bass direct from Public Peace, so my choices are either buy used off this forum or new from Bass Direct. Given the high-handed attitude he seems to be adopting, Adrian may not have UK distributor for much longer - or a business! In terms of advice, it gets a bit tricky when reasoning and pleading have failed. If I were you, I'd consider getting an inspection and report done by a suitably qualified person. It may even be worth contacting Mark at Bass Direct to see whether they'd be prepared to have a look and give an opinion - he can only say no but at least you've made him aware that there's a fair bit of dissatisfaction with Maruszczyk quality in the UK*. You could also harness Basschat power by organising a petition - "We the undersigned are UK customers of Public Peace. We are concerned about the recent poor quality of some of the basses we have purchased from you and think your refusal to rectify E_JB's bass is unreasonable. We therefore wish to register our support for his claim." I'd be happy to put my name to something along those lines to be sent to Adrian and copied to Mark. *If I were Mark, I'd be monitoring this topic and getting involved without being asked.
  8. Despite the issues I've posted, my Elwood is still my 'go to' bass - and my Cazpar was/is flawless. As NickD posted, I'd like the best of M to be what everybody gets.
  9. I understand where you're coming from with this comment. When I had problems with my Elwood last year, Adrian sorted them and I decided to post nothing at the time out of loyalty to the M brand and because nobody gets it right every time. In view of the recent experiences of others, I decided to share mine because: a) it's obvious that there is a significant quality issue, b) I am still a big fan of Adrian M, c) constructive criticism is IMHO what he needs and (last but not least) d) I know that Pierreganseman will feed this stuff back to Mr M. I think Public Peace has now reached the point where he has to put in place proper quality-control and customer-complaint systems run by people with the necessary specialist skills.
  10. I remember you posting about this - and I've since discovered the probable reason. When I changed my Elwood over to strap-locks, the screw that fixed the original bottom button was in extremely tight and I had to be careful not to round the head off. Once I carefully got it moving it was obvious that it had been driven in at an angle nearer 45 degrees than 90 degrees to the body surface. On close inspection of the extracted screw, I saw the shank was actually bent at the point where the button meets the body. This is the best way I know to weaken/break a screw. In practice, failure often happens later either due to repeated loading from the strap - as in Woody's case I think - or when you try to take the screw out as I did (i was the lucky one!). I had already noticed that most of the scratch-plate screws hadn't gone in straight either as the heads weren't sitting flat. You'd be shocked if you found that on a £150 Ibanez (which you wouldn't - I've owned a couple).
  11. I was counting on you to jump to Adrian's defence and you haven't disappointed me - which is good! I too am a BIG fan of his but he needs to look after his customers properly. You can now tell him that at least 2 Jazzus orders have been put on hold as a result of quality issues that started last year and obviously have not yet been sorted. I have 2 of his basses but the quality of the second (more expensive) one was so inferior that it didn't look like it had been made by the same company as the first.
  12. This is a worrying trend. I had a number of issues with the finish of my last Elwood - including that it was supplied without the Luminlays that I had ordered and paid for!! I decided not to post anything at the time because a) everybody gets things wrong once in a while and b) Adrian had no hesitation in sorting everything to my complete satisfaction. The real test of businesses - and the people who run them - is how they respond when things start going wrong. And the time when stuff typically falls apart is when they are having to expand in response to growing demand. This is especially true of specialist skills-based manufacturing companies like Adrian's, so I do hope that he is able to manage the change that success has brought upon him. His command of the English language is limited and I know he doesn't read this forum - hopefully our Pierreganseman is still following this thread and can convince Mr M that he is walking on thin ice at the moment. Public Peace certainly won't be able to hide bad stuff from the market so their only chance is to respond in a way that can't be faulted.
  13. B15? Thought that was a WW2 American bomber!
  14. That Andy Baxter bass sounds sweet!
  15. The Midlands country is where you normally find bushes (ok, I'll get my coat).
  16. My Maruszczyk basses have that allen key slot cut in. A bit more obvious than Andyjr's version but still fine by me.
  17. These are gorgeous and I'd love one, especially as 30" scale is my preference! Seem to remember the bass player in Paolo Nutini's band using one to good effect and looking dead cool while he was at it.
  18. Blimey - I'll have to put the Rascal Mervyn-Lyte you built for me on a diet!! Congrats on another beautiful creation.
  19. Collected the Eden yesterday and now, thankfully, the only noises it makes are the ones I want to hear 😊 I told Pete I was in no rush so he said he'd work on it in between other more urgent stuff - hence the extended timescale. He traced the problem to the pre-amp circuitry and, before fault-finding down to component level, checked out the price and availability of a replacement populated pcb with Marshall UK. This was in stock at such a reasonable price that it was definitely cheaper to go this way. So, Pete's charge for giving it the once-over, replacing an almost dead master volume pot and supplying/fitting the board was a very reasonable (IMHO) £120. That's exactly what I paid EMS (plus outward delivery cost) to service and replace a faulty pot on my TE AH300SMC over 10 years ago. Obviously it significantly increases the cost of this allegedly "mint" WT550 (don't know how the seller can sleep at night - hopefully he can't) but it now works a treat and I feel confident about its future reliability. Not gigged it yet but this thing sounds totally amazing through one of my BF SCG3 cabs - can't wait to hook it up to both and turn the wick up!!
  20. That's the nicest thing anybody's said to me all day (come to think of it, all month) 🙂
  21. Having to remove the neck to adjust the truss-rod was one of the things that really pi**ed me off with my Fender Rascal. SO when Andyjr re-bodied it he included a little slot in the custom body and supplied a special but simple tool (actually, I think he made it). This works a treat, is the easiest-to-adjust truss-rod on any of my basses and should be an easy mod for anyone with this type of neck.
  22. Thanks - that's quite a bargain for just exactly what you want.
