  1. Those finishes are a clumsy attempt at offering something different. Talk about clutching at straws!! If Gibbo had got their marketing and quality-control acts together, their core product range would probably have kept them going too.
  2. Definitely, although I think the 12" self-build cabs don't have tweeters. I'd certainly be interested in comparing with my SC G3 cab's.
  3. Spotted this thread just as I was about to post the link below: https://www.digitalmusicnews.com/2018/02/16/gibson-guitar-bankruptcy/
  4. Hi Greg, bear in mind that having to increase string height to avoid fret buzz can sometimes be the trade-off for lower tension strings - which would be counter-productive. My low-tension experience is enhanced by the fact that I play short-scale basses, so I can't really recommend a specific standard scale-length string.
  5. Would you buy a used bass (or anything else at a grand) from this guy?!
  6. You'll be more than welcome - and in very good company!
  7. This set-up will reduce the lateral break-angle of the D-string and the force it exerts on the nut - don't know whether that's the reason for it though . Hard to tell but it looks like the G string post is inset by a couple of mm too.
  8. Withdrawn due to belated realisation that this little amp is just too good to sell.
  9. I got one of these on recommendation from another Basschat member - really nice bit of kit. http://arachnidaudio.co.uk/product/amp-footswitch/
  10. I've got a trip up the M5 planned for this coming week (day/time TBC) so could potentially deliver north of J25 for a tenner towards fuel.
  11. OK you lucky peeps, here's my mint example of this astonishing amp. Price is collected including foot-switch for remote channel changes. Could deliver anywhere up the M5 north of J25 on Wednesday or Thursday of this coming week for £10 towards fuel (not sure which day yet - TBC) as I'm collecting a BF cab at Gloucester services. http://
  12. This is a really nice amp and I'm only selling it to fund other stuff. It's in A1 condition with no dings/scrapes/scratches and everything works as it should. Price is collected but happy to post to UK buyer willing to pay cost of insured delivery. Will post pics soonest.
  13. Given the size and nature of Ashdown, adopting the 'big corporate' tone of voice would be inappropriate. However, they must ensure that the factual info they publish is accurate and unambiguous. On this thread, they've accepted that and apologised for failing to do so with the CTM15. That's good enough for me and I applaud them for their readiness to come out in to the open, engage with us - and take the praise (usually) and criticism (occasionally).
  14. And fewer people wanting to sell I'd imagine - bummer!
  15. A very fine amp that sounds great and has a real quality look/feel. I really like mine and agree with karlfer about the versatility. I have a lot of time for Jeff Genzler too; he personally answered a query I left on their website and I know he's done that for others on this forum. Also nice to see that their UK pricing is (or was last time I looked) much more reasonable than comparable US stuff.
  16. Yes, and yes. PM me with your post-code and I'll get a delivery price. Thanks!
  17. Yep, that's a long wait but it will be worth it judging from the feedback here - my own included.
