  1. In the meantime, another bump.
  2. Gibson have apparently been having difficulties with the CITES permits needed for trading rosewood-containing products. That would certainly screw up their export business.
  3. Gibson is one of the best examples I know of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It really, really grieves me because I have such a soft spot - aka my brain?? - for the brand (as opposed to the company). I gigged a couple of delightful '70s LP Triumphs for years followed by a 2008 SG re-issue for some more years. The current management have taken a heritage that money just can't buy and pi55ed it up against a wall.
  4. Me too - I've only just got/tried the second one but not had chance to try both yet.
  5. Pleased to report another smooth sales transaction to add to Lee's feedback - everything just as you would wish from start to finish. No hesitation in recommending Lee.
  6. Those finishes are a clumsy attempt at offering something different. Talk about clutching at straws!! If Gibbo had got their marketing and quality-control acts together, their core product range would probably have kept them going too.
  7. Definitely, although I think the 12" self-build cabs don't have tweeters. I'd certainly be interested in comparing with my SC G3 cab's.
  8. I'll have my Barefaced G3 Super Compacts.
  9. Spotted this thread just as I was about to post the link below: https://www.digitalmusicnews.com/2018/02/16/gibson-guitar-bankruptcy/
  10. Hi Greg, bear in mind that having to increase string height to avoid fret buzz can sometimes be the trade-off for lower tension strings - which would be counter-productive. My low-tension experience is enhanced by the fact that I play short-scale basses, so I can't really recommend a specific standard scale-length string.
  11. Would you buy a used bass (or anything else at a grand) from this guy?!
  12. You'll be more than welcome - and in very good company!
  13. This set-up will reduce the lateral break-angle of the D-string and the force it exerts on the nut - don't know whether that's the reason for it though . Hard to tell but it looks like the G string post is inset by a couple of mm too.
  14. Withdrawn due to belated realisation that this little amp is just too good to sell.
  15. Will do - lovely bass.
  16. I got one of these on recommendation from another Basschat member - really nice bit of kit. http://arachnidaudio.co.uk/product/amp-footswitch/
  17. Holding deposit taken.
  18. I've got a trip up the M5 planned for this coming week (day/time TBC) so could potentially deliver north of J25 for a tenner towards fuel.
  19. OK you lucky peeps, here's my mint example of this astonishing amp. Price is collected including foot-switch for remote channel changes. Could deliver anywhere up the M5 north of J25 on Wednesday or Thursday of this coming week for £10 towards fuel (not sure which day yet - TBC) as I'm collecting a BF cab at Gloucester services. http://
  20. ...and here's some pics: http://
  21. This is a really nice amp and I'm only selling it to fund other stuff. It's in A1 condition with no dings/scrapes/scratches and everything works as it should. Price is collected but happy to post to UK buyer willing to pay cost of insured delivery. Will post pics soonest.
