1.
Nice one Mike, glad you like it, they really are a hidden gem amongst the smaller Class D amps imo, seem to have a lot more "oomph" to them.
Hi Lozz - couldn't have put it better myself Post from Bassix confirms that I did the right thing!
2. Price reduction bump - amp £175, cab £75!!
3.
I had the RM420 and sent it back after one practise, just didn't cut through sufficiently. Got the RM EVO 500 and no such problems, I see you already have one..
Yep, ended up getting the one from Lozz - really pleased with it!
4. Just played Adrian's video - what a massive range of sounds!
5. Sold subject to usual stuff.
6. With an 800W amp on your pedal-board you might need shoes with asbestos soles!
7. Price-reduction bump - now for £60.
8.
But does it go up to elf?
Nein, nur zehn
9.
^^ Oh, and Dave there at GB Music has this one for sale, with 3 more coming in next week...
Just like buses - you wait 6 months for one the 4 turn up at the same time
10. Yes, looks good in white with the wooden pup covers setting off the gold hardware - thru-neck too?!
11. Sorry, should have read the OP properly (brain-fade) - I'm not techie enough to know whether that 2.7ohm setting also accommodates 2 x 4ohm cabs.
12. My Genzler Magellan 800 is switchable down to 2.7ohms to run either 3 x 8ohm cabs (which I do) or 1 x 4ohm + 1 x 8ohm. It's also a blindingly good IMHO and not as expensive in the UK as other popular US amps.
13. £295 collected, £325 delivered (fully insured) to UK mainland address.
14. You'd also get a decent used Hofner Club CT for your budget (I had a lovely one for a while). Similar sounds to the violin bass but maybe without the 'Beatle-McCartney' connection, which can attract a bit of a price premium.
15. BUMP for price reduction! That's as low as it will be going btw
16. I think I'm in luuuurve !!!
17. My list would be more like 20, and the only ones I haven't managed to try yet are an Alembic EUB 1, a Rivoli (pref Chas Chandler's), one of those cute little Warwick s-s Corvettes, and (bizarrely, as I love 'em and have had lots of opportunities) a Ricky 4001.
18.
I got two basses on the wall on hangers for those quick 'working things out' moments and two sitting in hard cases ready for gigs. I couldn't relax on a journey if my basses were in gig bags, however much they're padded. I can always see something falling over and cracking the neck off.
Exactly the same here.
19.
Also with the different woods used & one being active & the other passive, I would imagine you could dial in any tone you want from one or t'other.
That was in fact the plan - and it's worked out pretty well for the two completely different bands I play in (classic covers and singer-songwriter original, multi-genre stuff).
20. OK, so let's get the numbers up a bit with my 2 short-scales! http:// http:// My Mensinger Cazpar was the standard passive model except for the eye poplar capper being a bit thicker to allow for the deeper arm-rest chamfer I requested (I wasn't charged any extra for this mod!!). The Elwood active was made to my spec including chambered body, Hipshot lightweight Y tuners and alu bridge, Haeussel P-JJ with mini series/single/parallel switch for the HB, Delano 2-band electronics with 3-way pup selector toggle and pot's for volume + active/passive (push-pull), bass and treble/passive tone. Two very different basses but (to me) equally beautiful. Have to say, though, that the (much!) cheaper Cazzie is the star player - I've never found anything like it at any price.
21.
The necks are just amazing on these basses - so playable. Both mine have a 14" fretboard radius & I like that flatness! Low action & no fret buzz either.
Love the neck on mine too - but my Cazzie is even better
22. A real beauty, that! Love the shape - very similar to my beloved Maruszczyk Cazpar.
23.
Do we need yet another J-Bass copy?
I'd say there's a bit more to it than that.
24.
Definite incoming now...
How gorgeous is that?! Love my Elwood btw.
