Absolutely unmarked / as new - really nice, very compact combo used briefly for gigs with 'folky' singer/songwriter and no longer needed.
Cool, just not sure what you would use it for really. Coffee shop gigs or similar perhaps? From what I have read a drummer would render it a no-no.
House practice and gig spare backup for me.

Re Photobucket, are you shortening each image link by deleting the extensions on the outside of the [IMG] brackets? My experience on this forum is that you can only post a single pic unless you do that. In any case, Photobucket have managed to render their service practically unusable IMHO - it keeps tripping over itself in its rush to show you adverts that you don't want to see !! Really nice bass btw -
If you only want to run with a single cab, I'd make it a 4ohm one. Your £500 should get you a nice used one.

Hey Roo, just had a quick listen to the demos. There's a lot of scope for a good, creative bassist to bring something original, distinctive - maybe even surprising - to the party. A very nice drummer to play with too. If we still lived in Fowlmere, I'd be banging on your door to arrange a preliminary chat in the upstairs resto at Taylor's in Baldock! (This used to be the best chippie in the universe, is it still there?)

Mensinger Custom made 5 string bass (Short Scale) WITHDRAWN
scrumpymike replied to Papabull's topic in Basses For Sale
I've got the 4-string passive version, and it's truly sublime. As the many Mensinger / Maruszczyk owners on this forum will confirm, the quality of these basses takes some beating - at any price. This should be one of the lightest, most comfortable 5ers you'll find (mine weighs in at just over 3kg). Some lucky owner will be getting a fabulous bass that IMHO is also a work of art. If 5 strings were my thing, I'd be straight in there! -
I'd say avoid any liquid/fluid that could soak into the bare wood or wick into cracks in the finish. My starting point would be a gentle wipe over with a soft cloth just barely dampened with white spirit immediately followed by a bit of 'heavy breathing'/buffing with a clean, dry cloth. Do an initial trial on a small area on the back of the body and see how it looks after a few hours first.

"I've been mostly attempting suicide with cheese." Ah, but what a way to go - went to a NYE party last night and gave the cheese board a real hammering!
I would never do such a dishonest thing.
Me neither

I'm sure you'll be well pleased - I played the one at Jaywalk and loved it.
What are you going for?
Classic look, light weight and versatile sound: chambered body in gloss Vintage White with tort plate; natural maple neck with Luminlay edge markers; rosewood fretboard with mop dots; 3+1 headstock with lightweight tuners; cast alu bridge/chrome hardware; white Haeussel P + J/J pups with 3-pos selector and mini single-coil switch into Delano 2-band. Can't wait!

Welcome back - is that the one they had in Jaywalk Guitars in Street?

Has anyone gone from lightweight back to heavy?
scrumpymike replied to AndyTravis's topic in Amps and Cabs
I think we are on the verge of a slight shift. I think tube pre with transformer power stage heads are going to be to the weapon of choice for the next few years (look at the drooling over the Hand Box amps). I agree at a certain something lacking with class D heads, and am in the process of trying to negotiate my amp situations at the moment. Now I'm not saying that going and humping about a peavey TNT 15" combo is a clever idea, but if you are getting all warm and fuzzy about trace Elliott, then go for it. Hey yourself a trace head, but get yourself a decent lightweight cab. It is cool to rock up with an amp in a handbag, but in reality we can all manage a 10kg head. I for one would love to hear a trace head through a neo 212 cab. They were highly regarded back in the day, I'd love to see how they stack up now!
I'm running a TE AH300SMC through an Ashdown ABM210 Neo plus (when needed) a TE Compact 115 re-loaded with a 300W Celestion. All quite warm, tight, punchy and reasonably portable - though I'll be replacing the 115 with a Barefaced BB2. It's that TE pre-shape button that does it for me every time! -
Which Gibbo model is that?

When I was a skint teenager in the '60s, I could only afford to buy 'must-have' singles. I'd buy one, get it home, and compulsively play it to death for hours or even days. Nowadays, it's must-have basslines - often quite simple ones - that have an addictive hook and just feel 'so right' that it makes me happy playing along with the song. At the moment I've re-discovered Amy Macdonald's This Is The Life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRYvuS9OxdA What's yours?

Just had a read of the BH550 review on Guitar Interactive Mag - very impressed!!

What a timely post is this - I'm looking for a new amp and the LH500 and TX600 were on the shortlist (although the sixer reportedly punch well below its weight). Interestingly, if you Google Hartke you'll find the manufacturer's own website is notable by its absence.

The 3 pups coupled with a Strat-style 5-position switch and a push/pull volume pot give 7 instantly selectable, clearly differentiated voices (there's a tone pot too). The other 2 basses pictured with it have gone, but the Fender's a keeper.
