1. I'm looking at ordering a s-s Elwood C and have pretty much spec'd the construction and finish of it (actually 2 alternatives that I have yet to decide on!). What I'm not sure about are the pups. The standard ones for the Elwood C are Adrian's single coils. Does anyone out there have experience of them - or the others he offers like Delano and Glockenklang come to that? Only ones I know are the Domanskis on my Cazpar (which I like). And what about active versus passive? I'm not likely to be playing anything that requires any tonal extremes, so I'm inclined to stick with passives. What I do find neat on the Cazpar is the switchable humbie.
2. Remember trying one same as the OP at The Bass Centre around the turn of the '80s - a privileged experience! Also a privilege to have that emporium a short tube ride away.
3.
It is a full scale bass 34". If you like them shorter, you can always cut some wood
I'm off to find the saw!
4. Wow, that makes what can only be described as an Entwistle-like statement - wear it with pride!
5. "My strap ends are particularly thick and 'spongey' though which might explain the movement?" That would be your jock-strap then... (Sorry mate, you knew somebody would rise to the bait )
6. I'm using both on various straps/guitars. I find the EBs are a bit less fiddly to use but both types are equally prone to the nut working loose. For particularly heavy basses I'd recommend the Schaller type as they look more robust. Saying that though, I can't imagine EB would sell anything that might break - and they do look cool!
7. Time for a pre-Xmas bump on this little beauty!
8.
Can anyone let me know Adrian,s Email address.? I'm after a pickguard for my Elwood 5.
If you go onto the 'contact' section of the public-peace.de website, there's a link to 'info@' which goes direct to Adrian.
9. Well posted! There's rarely a day goes by without me celebrating the good bass stuff I'm lucky enough to own. No Warwicks but that's not the point - mind you, maybe after 50 years of playing it's about time I tried one
10.
Really nice bass. I'm surprised this hasn't had much attention.

Same here, I think it looks great if only it had 5 strings.
Especially in view of the big Marra following on here (me included). Right number of strings but wrong scale length for me.
11. Bugger! Talked myself out of taking part in the auction on the assumption that there'd be the usual flood of bids jacking the price up in the dying minutes. Guess what - the second bidder (from yesterday) got it for £64!!
12.
I began my bass playing with 34's, Precision, Jazz, Speakeasy, etc. I've enjoyed trying out numerous makes and models. All 4 stringers. Since about 3 years I have only short and medium scale instruments. Here's a good read regarding the merits of a shorter scale. http://www.innertain...net/medium.html
I only gig s-s basses too nowadays, so I really appreciate this article - thanks!
13. Forgot to say price includes UK delivery - OP now edited accordingly!
14. Just fired off an e-mail asking Adrian if he's exhibiting at the London Bass Show in March. Here's his reply: Hello, I don't know, maybe. Write to the organization you will see me at the stage. Greetings Adrian Can anyone more familiar with the show tell me what he means?
15. Don't apologise solo - you're absolutely right! My body's suffered from 5 decades of bass-playing wear and tear too. Over the past couple of years I've tried pretty much every s-s bass I could get my hands on - and seem to have ended up buying most of them! So now it's time to get back down to the 3 or 4 basses that best suit my needs (I've already sold a Gibson SG, a Les Paul DC, a Hofner Club and a fretles Scott Whitley SWB-1). This one plays/sounds virtually as good as the more expensive stuff I'm keeping!
16. This is a mint/unmarked example of a really nice s-s bass. I had it set up by my local luthier with my preferred D'Addario EXL220S strings and the price is delivered UK and includes the excellent gig-bag that came with my Maruszczyk Cazpar (that now has a hard case and the bag's a perfect fit for the Talman). Here's the spec: Construction: Mahogany with rosewood fretboard (radius = 9.5") Scale length: 30" with 20 medium frets Weight: 3.3kg / 7.3lbs Neck width at nut: 41mm / 1.6" Pups: Dynamix P (neck), Dynamix J (bridge) Reason for sale? Too much stuff coming in!!
17. Mint/unmarked example finished in Root Beer Metallic with Ibanez Mikro gig-bag in equally good nick. I bought this a while back after deciding I needed a light/compact fix for a short period of marathon rehearsals during new band start-up. Also proved ideal to have on my lap while sat at the pc working bass parts out. Apart from the convenience though, must also say that I'm surprised by just how capable this little bass is! Selling now as part of latest 'stuff has to go because other stuff's coming in' purge.
18. I keep coming back to have another look at this just to remind myself how gorgeous it is!
