2.
When are they coming back to the UK to finish their tour?
This. Turn Blue was an awesome record. Why cancel dates and not reschedule?
3. Little Bear Mammoth clone! Amazing pedal for the price.
4. SIT Silencers but it won't get flat flat.
5. Should say I'm a Schroeder cabinet owner and am very happy with my tone - cuts through the mix like no other. What heads are we all using?
6.
This. Up until recently I had a Status 5-string. I'd had it for donkey's and it was a great bass, a real looker and sounded superb, I loved it. Guess what? I sold it. Not because it was crap, but because I fancied a change and needed a few bob. So I bought something cheaper that I'd had my eye on (a V7). I wasn't the first to do such a thing with a long-owned and cherished instrument, and I certainly won't be the last. As mac says, GAS is a very fickle mistress.
You sold a Status for a Sire?!
7. You couldn't open a case?
8. My comment applies to both old and newer versions.
9.
A BC-er is selling a Maruzczyk - SHOCK! HORROR! Must be rubbish eh?
But why sell it? That spec is really good.
10. Great! I look forward to your usual Thomann delayed shipping thread then.
11. The same things always come out, "They colour the tone, they have a mid hump etc". IMO/FMP they sound better in a rock band with a valve head pushing it then a supposed 'neutral' sounding cabinet.
12.
Really? They could build something like this for less than 900 quid?
I'll be seeing it in the FS section shortly.
13. If you ask.
14. All the rock bands I grew up listening to said Led Zep was their main influence. I doubt The Beatles influenced Jimmy Page and co.
15.
Yeah i think,i buy blind online, because theres never anything locally. That will be the main problem Thanx
Lol!
16.
The thing with Limelight is that they're meeting a demand in the marketplace. If you want a certain-spec bass, with a particular level of relic'ing that appeals to you, for a reasonable price, there's just nowhere else to go. As for Marusczcyk, I just find them remarkable. If there's another builder who can compete with them, I don't know who they are.
ACG... It's hype. You'll be on something else next year.
17. Brother of Richard Osman of Pointless fame.
18. Finally got to try one of these and was a little underwhelmed. The blend does make it sound like 2 seperate signals being put into one. It was fuzzy and ballsy but it just didn't give me that fizz. I may be looking for more of a fuzz pedal, something with a huge wall of sound.
19. OBBM.
20.
How come there are so many Limelights for sale when the owners say `its the best bass ive owned` thats always baffled me.
Every bass/amp/pedal ad on here says that...
21. Les Paul through an AC30 here. The P would cut through well 'cause of the mids. In fact, just bumping the mids on any bass will make cutting through easy. On a J bass, neck pickup full, roll the bridge pickup back to 8 and bang, done.
22. Yes, definitely make arrangements before getting to the venue. Don't go through the promoter, ask the other bands direct preferably in a group message. Strictly speaking, the headline band provides backline to help switch around times but never assume this! Also, headline band would be first to soundcheck so makes most sense for them to provide the gear. Just being courteous and polite to other bands goes a long way. You won't have to do that awkward shuffle towards the other bands before your soundcheck - "Er, alright mate. Can I, er, use your amp?" Most the time there will be monitors anyway so bass players find it much more appealing when you say I won't be touching your amp settings because I have a DI pedal to use for our set.
23. BDI21. More reliable.
24. If you like D'Addario EXLs, DR Lo Riders are a good choice. A hair more tension and a little smoother but last way longer than EXLs.
