1. Thanks for proving my point.
2. Following on from The Clash 'The Clash', Public Enemy 'Nation Of Millions...'.
3.
But were they part of a scene involving music and fashion?
Er yeah... the EDM scene is massive. You been to a club lately?
4. Kanye West is the best bass player on the planet. [/link] You sure he's not just a master of self publicity, created an 'alter-ego' has it were and duped everyone into thinking that's how he lives his life everyday? Like thousands of others before him, he's got you all talking about him for right or wrong reasons.
5. Dubstep and before that was nu rave. There is a lot of good dance music coming through but it's not on Radio 1. I thought rock was fairly popular again as of last year.
6. EHX OD Glove. Nails the valve break up sound.
7.
Don from D'Addario here - we've been talking about some Balanced Tension bass sets - nothing in stone as of yet. In the meantime, you can use our new String Tension calculator to figure out what might work for you - www.stringtensionpro.com - let me know if you have any feedback. You can reach me at [email protected] Don Dawson Product Marketing Specialist D'Addario
D'Addario already makes balanced tension bass sets??
8. It's one thing calling Kanye delusional but to say the man has no talent is just plain silly. Whatever he is, he sure has more money than you or I.
9.
Gig on the weekend, another bass player said to me: "Am I plugging into that Orange, yeah?" "No mate. I'm sure the soundman has a DI Box."
Nice!
10. Like it or not, Kanye West is the biggest rock star on the planet.
11. I'd take an unusual bass anyday. How often do you see Fender Ps and Js? Oh, is that an American or Mexican model? Who cares, just play the bloody thing.
12. You'll struggle to find a tapewound with even medium tension - they simply don't exist. I would say the LaBella 760FX set might be worth a shot as LaBellas are the closest you'll get to that sound on non-tapewound strings.
13. Ernie Ball Group IV or GHS Precision flats light gauge.
14. "Good evening, we are a Jimi Hendrix tribute band." "Stairway!"
15. Precision, LaBella's, SVT.
16. If you like the Fulltone OCD, get the EHX OD Glove. Exact same pedal at a third the price.
17.
It's a real shame Ashdown have to come on here defending themselves like this, especially from ignorant comments about frequency response. They are a British success in a worldwide market, I understand people may not "get" the product but it seems to have turned into an unnecessary flaming a la the Barefaced threads. Let's leave this one be shall we
People bashing equipment before they've even heard or tried it? Surely not!
18. Change isn't easy, regardless of age.
19.
Seymour Duncan Antiquity II's would fit the bill.
+1. Possibly Nordstrand's too.
20. The guy in the photos is Daniel P Carter - presenter of the Radio 1 rock show.
21. How do these compare to Sunbeams feel and tension wise?
22. LaBella 1954 Originals.
23. I've used 7150s on my Jazz and was pleasantly surprised. Fresh they sound like a NPS roundwound though a little duller. Leave them on a month and the thump starts to come through very nicely but not as thumpy as a flatwound. The feel is very smooth, maybe a touch more than Sunbeams. A great string for the dead rounds sound with reduced finger noise.
