1.
I was staying at the Lowry in Manchester the same nights as they were in Manchester. They were staying there too. Sadly I didn't get to meet Flea but I helped Josh Klignhoffer get a cab!
Very cool!
2. I don't get this thing about cheap strings on a bass. It's like buying a sports car and then having the cheapest tyres available put on it. Why would you do it to a bass? I use DR strings but I pay £14 a set...
3. Catfish - The Ride.
4. Hey, Brand new set of DR Fat Beams 45-100 gauge, still fresh in box. SOLD! Thanks for looking!
5. Fender 9050s.
6. Anyone using this with a Schroeder cabinet?
7. Oh my.
8. Take it everyone commenting on this is white then...
9.
I have Rotobass nickel plated strings on at the moment, they seem one of the better nickels i have tried so far
I wouldn't say Roto nickels are that bright at all; Prosteels are brighter I would say than Roto steels! If you like Roto nickels then I would try DR Lo Riders or SIT Powerwound nickels which would be a touch brighter.
10. OBBM Bassic Bits cable. Job done.
11. What are the nickel strings you have on now?
12. Put the cable through the handle of the cab before putting it into the amp input.
13.
I have gigged plenty of times before but it was a while ago, I have a few coming up soon (in a couple of weeks). I've ordered a spare set of strings, just in case I snap a string before/during the gig. And I'll take a number of extra leads just in case of an electrical issue; and a spare mains lead for the amp. My bass is a Jazz bass so it has 2 pickups, meaning that if something strange electrical happens to it, it might only affect the one pickup and I can survive on the other one (or it might be a more general electrical issue). What other preparations or bits and piece are worth taking to the concert, just in case something bizarre or unusual happens?
Maybe you better buy a 3 pickup bass in case 2 of them fail?! Srsly.
14.
Ok recieved the prosteels unfortunately i dont think these are gonna cut it, i know Daddario makes some great products and i am sure it is just a case of the strings being the wrong match accoustically for this bass, i found the treble to be only very slightly stronger than the nickels i already had on the bass and the tone if anything was a little on the polite side and lacking bite , wish i had gone for the xl nickels now, back to the drawing board
Literally don't know what you want. What are these near sounding steel nickel strings? Pro Steels are really bright!
15. Er... 1. What sane person keeps multiple guitars on stage? I take them off anyway; more room to run around!
16. I love Black Friday because you do get genuine bargains. If you're in America. Which I am right now...
17. I think it was the Helix thing and the way they were marketed. I wish they weren't contact core either.
18.
Dean Markley Helix nickel plated steels for me they are the best strings I have ever tried
They're being discontinued!
19. Slappers have now morphed into the RX series I believe.
20. I'll put 'any' then next time...
21. Hi Beams or Fat Beams for SS. D'Addario XL for nickels. SIT Rock Brights too.
