1. Could try the next gauge up? SIT Rock Brights are great for slap. Could try Boomers too seeing as they're quite readily available?
2. Capo on first fret, fret the 16th or 17th fret. A credit card should just be able to pass under the 7th fret without raising the string. Adjust truss rod to suit otherwise.
3. Well, that sounds like Steels. In which case, DR Hi Beams or Fatbeams sound right up your street. If steels are too rough and you want Nickels, DR Lo Riders, SIT Rock Brights or Dunlop Super Brights (lower tension) are worth trying. If your sweat is really bad then coated strings are the way to go. Elixirs, D'Addario EXP and Cleartone are all good coated strings. The EXPs I would say are a little brighter than the Elixirs but all coated strings are a little duller than Nickel plated strings (fresh out the pack).
4. Buy coated strings. Bigger investment but will last much longer. Please don't buy cheap strings - it's like buying a BMW and putting on secondhand tyres.
5. 2-1 odds of the OP being single.
6. Blame it on Brexit - just an excuse to get more money out of us. Remember global warming and how all the ice was going to melt and we would be living underwater by now? Nothing has changed and we're still being charged/taxed for all this co2, carbon monoxide, environmental claptrap. Why? Until China and other Asian countries take it seriously, whatever we do will make no difference. But yeah, the pound will increase again over time. Fenders were always overpriced no matter what.
7. They sound just like Rotos but with better output, smoother feel and last much longer.
8. I would say DR Fatbeams would be right up your street.
9.
fad noun an intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something, especially one that is short-lived; a craze. "some regard green politics as no more than the latest fad"
Upset you couldn't get one?
10. Bit of Primarni hits the spot everytime.
11. I always thought compression was a cover up for poor technique. Honestly. I can see why in the studio it is used so much but tbh I thought that was down to making it easier to get a better mix?
12. Normal Blue thread. Post question with an obvious answer. Give said answer. Blue tells you it's wrong and gives his version of an answer.
13. And removing leads from inputs to stop any battery drainage... Don't know why you think PSUs take longer to set up? You literally just plug them in - everything else is already connected.
14. Turn your mids up?
15. Buy a 4/6 way extension and a good PSU... You found the socket to plug your amp in alright? Common sense really.
16.
1990 Marlin Slammer. £70.
I've played one of them!
17. Me. Because I will never sell it. Seriously, 8 year bump?
18.
Why? Si
Bc it can never be replaced...
19. I would be wary about playing a '61 stack knob, one of only 3 in that colour ever made, and taking it out on the road.
20.
I've never heard anything by Adele.
You been living under a rock, bro?
21.
Damn right I've got money to burn. It's great. I'd rather have my 18 year old car and fine instruments than drive a new jalopy and play cheap crap.
Point well and truly missed.
22. DR Sunbeams or La Bella RX Nickels. Coated strings won't do it for you IMHO.
23. Money to burn guys. Instruments out there that do the job better and cheaper too. Paying for the name I'm afraid.
