1. "Get off!!! Your sh*te!!!"
2. I'll take a dozen!!!
3. just offered him 500 pence...he said" are you taking the p*ss" I said "you started it!!!!
4. Thats just hard core bass porn!!!!
5. well i got the bass yesterday, was late so i tried it on rocksmith and could find no hum/buzz?? today i plugged it into a bass amp and there was a slight hum but not too bad. twiddled with the tone and volume controls fast back and forth. and the hum has gone!!! so i am guessing a faulty pot?? should be easy fix has now been cleaned up came up like new not bad for £30
6. and what would give me the best bang for buck improvment on sound???
7. well i have just brought a (cheap) P-bass. To tinker with, it has a bad humming issue and volume/tone ajustments make no difference. so tomorrow i will pull it apart and check for grounding issues hopefuly i can fix it myself
8.
Welcome Graham. My one piece of advice for using Basschat would be to avoid getting caught up in Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS). Just get a playable instrument and a practice amp and enjoy the learning process.
Too Late I'm afraid...Already in the process of getting a Spector pro 4, little used off a guy on another(unrelated) forum, and looking at lots of other stuff as well . I am disabled so on a very tight budget(just as well realy). so I am also looking into getting old stuff, looking for a new lease of life
9. thank you i have an answer
10. just noticed one for sale on here ..it is NOT that bass i am asking about
11. been offered above in I'm told nice condition( not seen it yet) how much is a sensible price to pay. If all is ok as i have no idea if this is a good, bad or indifferent bass or its value thanks
12. well I been playing for a fair bit today, tried Rocksmith as my lad has it and says it will help me. And I really enjoyed it , but stone me my finger tips hurt This bass playing lark aint easy is it, but I really am getting the bug!!! so looks like the Ashton could be getting a friend soon than I thought. but I won't tell the lad
13.
Cool stuff - but I'll bet the Ashton is easier to play sitting down than the Warlock!
Don't know, not been allowed near it
14. thanks guys. to be honest I am really pleased with it,for a budget make it appears to be pretty solid, and today I picked up a BC Rich Warlock in fantastic Condition for £75 though my son has now claimed it!! and has'nt stopped playing it Well I suppose it's my fault as the first thing I said to him was"check this out for me, to make sure it works ok".
15. well I just got my first bass a Ashton ab400 Cost me £30 so I know its a quality instrument any jealous comments from Fender/Warwick etc owners will be ignored anyway just had a quick go and it seems more than good enough for me to try and learn on. And if i take to it a decent bass will be sort ( may even spend over £70) I know Ashtons are frowned upon but as i say... rather waste £30 than £300/400. if anyone knows about these basses please let me know thanks
