The Bass Gallery is probably the best of the bunch but unlike everyone else I didn't have an amazing experience. I brought in an Iceni fretless I bought off GBH on BW, it needed some things doing to it, like replacing a 6 string EMG pickup with a 5 string one (GBH neglected to mention that, even when I tried the bass out and said it felt like quite a stretch), but that's mostly my own fault for not realising, and being realistic I would have bought it anyway. So, back to the gallery... I took it in and they explained that I would have to wait a bit for a 40DC pickup but they could try a 2nd hand EMG 5 string P pup in there in the meantime, as well as giving it a setup, filling the gaps left by the downsized pup and fitting a ramp as well as fitting Elites Nickel strings. The onus seemed to be on me to keep phoning to find out when the bass was ready. Finally got it back, had a quick play in the shop and took it home with my wallet considerably lightened. Realised after a more extensive play that the setup wasn't great, the strings weren't elites, and the pickup really wasn't what I was after. I got in touch and explained that I'd still rather a 40DC. They again told me to phone back and I did this once or twice a week for a couple of months but still no sign of the 40DC, each time I called I was treated in a slightly more offhand manner. I suggested that they get in touch with me when it comes in and I haven't heard a peep out of them since. That was around January/February time. I paid a fair bit of cash for the work done and after being treated like that I don't think I'll shop there again.

stu. top right below new topic button is options, click on that and see if it's set as 'standard' display mode. think that may be the problem...
-
wow, fair enough... in that case i'll keep my eyes peeled for the cheap korg one cheers for the heads up! tom
-
hey, any of you guys tried a behringer rack tuner? i'm tempted by it's cheapo price, can't afford a proper korg one, just can't justify it... so... any experiences? cheers, tom ps - i know about their underhand tactics and cheeky ways, but this is something i WOULDN'T buy from another company, purely because of the price. pps - hey rich, how you gettin on with the emg pup?

Hey, that's a good idea! I'll get on to it tomorrow morning, but right now it's time for bed PS - i'm gonna pay the survey site their tenner (cos i'm a student) so that first one wasn't all in vain! so yeah, carry on and thanks again!
-
Hello everyone, thanks for all your responses! Maybe a bit of a problem though, I didn't realise that for the free account thing with the survey site you're only allowed 50 responses and I've got 61. then they stop you looking at the results, unfortunately I don't have the £20 necessary to see them... So, I've added a couple of the most pertinent questions to my groove collective specific questionnaire which you can fill out here, I'd really appreciate it if you guys could do this, and I'm really sorry that the last one didn't work out, I will monitor this one and let you know on here when (if) it's getting close to 50 http://FreeOnlineSurveys.com/rendersurvey....yaiq2zntf323448 Thanks again everyone! you're legends! oh and mrs. tinman, cheers! will get onto them asap

Hello guys, I've almost finished my degree and am doing a Groove Collective bass transcription book for my final project and discussing what it needs to contain and how i'd get it published for my dissertation. So... If you guys could fill out this questionnaire it'd be greatly appreciated! General transcription book one: http://freeonlinesurveys.com/rendersurvey....wtwiu6bzc323062 Groove Collective one: http://freeonlinesurveys.com/rendersurvey....yaiq2zntf323448 There will be a couple more short ones comin, one about your favourite genres/bands and one about groove collective in particular. if you like your funk but haven't heard of them, then download basically anything by them, you'll love it. In particular the albums We The People and Dance of the Drunken Master will give you a pants tent. Also, if you know any independent music publishing houses/methods to publish let me know, hal leonard won't even look at 'em and it'd be nice to be able to send them off to someone and see what they think. Thanks in advance guys! Tom

Hello there, I've got a BVX BW I bought off funnyfreddie when this was still bassworld... It's a bit tatty on the top right hand edge but works fine and sounds meaty! It's a 4 ohm... Not 100% sure I want to sell it but gimme a shout if you don't have any luck elsewhere...
