  1. If you click on your profile at the top of the page it will show your rank and the number of "points" until you power up. I'm not sure how watts is connected to points.
  2. Yes, Jah Wobble could certainly come up with a great line. "He used to be somebody. I repeat he used to be somebody"
  3. Only the rusty sheriffs badge stinks. I don't mind the badges one way or another.
  4. Quoting your own post also gives 2 points. Just to prove that either arguing with yourself, or agreeing with yourself is regarded as a good thing by the powers that be, and that talking you yourself isn't entirely pointless unless you don't like badges.
  5. Just as a trial, I checked out your list. My profile said 473 points from the next level. A post in off topic leaves it unchanged. A "Thanks" TLRT on your post gave me 3 points. Whoopee. EDIT: Replying to your post gave me 2 points. EDIT: But editing my own post gives 0.
  6. IME there is no difference at all in build quality, but in some cases the hardware is of different quality. I have a Chinese Squier CV PB that I play in preference to my MIA precision. It sounds better - possibly because it has a different bridge configuration, is made from different body wood and has a different tone circuit although there is a slight quality issue with the jack input. When I bought it I tried a MIM in the shop and preferred both the sound and feel of the Squier to the F branded standard.
  7. As a user of Amplitube 4 which I got for free, and upgraded to Amplitube 5 for free and got the SVT bass suite for free, I spent $25 dollars on a Fender package which is the only money I've spend with them in around a year of using their kit. I find the installation process tiresome and confusing and had some problems getting it to work. I contacted online support and they responded in less than an hour explaining how to fix the problem. Yesterday I saw that I'd been given a free amp but couldn't see how to access it and there was nothing on the FAQs so I contacted them. Again they responded in minutes. I'm not sure where the support team is based but even though they are overseas the instructions both times were very clear. Amplitube may not be everyone's choice but there's a good few companies who could lean a thing or two from their costumer support.
  8. Hate is a strong word, but I really really don't like them* * stolen from the Plain White T's who aren't everyones cup of Earl Grey.
  9. Yes they can, but the tunes are dreadful. No more or less to it than that.
  10. Interesting pic. I'm not sure whether the door will be the main theme of that utterly hideous carpet.
  11. Well done @lurksalot. A big winning margin too.
  12. This is a remix of a track that I did a few years back. All the instruments tracks are identical in both recordings although I have re-done the lead vocals in the new mix. All other differences are simply in the vsts and plugins used. I have no doubt improved in playing terms and knowing how to get stuff recorded so could probably improve the bass and guitar parts but just wanted to see what post production could do for this track. Please feel free to comment on the mix, production or indeed the song itself. And here's the original recording:
  13. All the mlllions going into space travel appear to be to allow the uber rich to claim they'v been somewhere that the rest of us cannot afford to go. There's almost no money spent on space colonisation.
  14. Since this is a Beatles thread I will debunk your argument by referring you to the output of a certain Paul McCartney.
  15. I started playing when I was around 12 or 13 but didn't start writing and recording anything until a couple of years ago. I've been listening to some of my old tracks and I'm currently re-recording vocals and remastering the first track I ever recorded which in my view is the best song I've written so far. Maybe it's like novels - everyone has one good one in them, some people have several.
  16. If they are listening to the Beatles I would suggest that it would demonstrate a distinct lack of progress.
  17. ?????? Did you not realise this is a 2019 song sung in Olde English with a few words changed? ??????
  18. Did you check out the video of her singing live in a bar? Can't see how you could do that with auto(de)tune.
  19. Too late, not only have you watched it you've also commented here on it. As an experiment it's clearly working - 400k hits on youtube but more importantly mentioned in one thread and the actual factual topic in another thread right here on BC. Surely BC is not unique in how this has invaded our forum. Should the mods block the thread to prevent the experiment continuing?
  20. I write a few songs and I'm fairly sure the gig public don't want to hear them.
  21. I couldn't read the whole article as I don't subscribe but would be interested to know what format the recordings will be and what makes people think that the tech to play it will still be available in the future. It's conceivable that we consider high res now will be superseded by some other tech and the current formats will disappear over time in the same way that its difficult to find something to play a phonograph cylinder these days and that tech is only 100 odd years out of date. While there are a couple of pre historic compositions (Hurrian Hymn no 6" and "Seikilos Epitaph" no one really knows how to read the notation to reproduce them properly. Other long standing music is either passed down by performance through generations, or more recently through standard notation. Only if musicians continue to use standard notation will most music be understood, unless we have to endure wedding bands playing Hey Jude for the next 1000 years.
  22. The lizards will be in charge. Do they eat beetles?
