Yep removing the frets is the only proper answer! But you can get the swell from a Slow Gear or clone other than that think the only option would be a midi setup.

Personally I have tried to avoid rehearsal spaces that are rented out for quite a while now, due to crap equipment (once went to one where every single drum skin had a hole in and the cymbals were all bent into horseshoes as well as there only being two plugs which meant we either got heat as it was the middle of winter or power for two amps!) overall cost and general hastle of booking times and transporting kit. We now with another band pay £300 per month to rent a permanent space we can use whenever we want, was two practise rooms but sound leakage made using both at once impractical so one is now a storage/chill out room. Works out cheaper than going elsewhere as we generally do two practises a week too.

Fair enough well it is of course your decision, I'd be happy to take it off your hands at that price with both of those being possible though. (which from the headstock photos from the other thread I can't see being the case.) -
Yeah the very worst I'd do would be sell it someone else on here if it wasn't for me, which I would be very surprised about.

With sub frequencies you'll always be able to feel them even if you can't hear them but it is unlikely that your set up would be capable of producing/reproducing these frequencies anyway. Personally I'd say that the brain is too clever to ever notice the difference.

I'd be surprised if you'd be able to hear the difference, from what I've read the majority of basses won't be producing the fundamental of the low B or lower anyway and our ears just fill in the missing frequencies from our expectations like on a telephone. Do your cabs even go that low?

Never heard of them but from the description I'm pretty confident only the pickups are British and they're just assembled here.

I'd advise looking at Peavey, if you can mange to find one I picked up a Fury I for £50, P bass styled but with a very fast slim neck, American made, Ash or Poplar solid body etc. -
Thanks for the offer mate, have got a friend with one though so I've had a good play and know I want one! Just watching the ones that pop up on eBay for a good price at the moment.

Yeah I'll keep looking out for a 201 but really don't want to pay £400 odd! Hopefully they will be bringing out something new soon, though it all seems to be complete speculation from what I can see. I was thinking something along those lines though I think I'd prefer two more manageable boards personally!

Selling my Voodoo Lab Tremolo as I just can't justify keeping it on my board when my Moog ring mod covers me well enough for trem duties. Absolutely fantastic sounding pedal in as new condition with box and manual (as such it's only a page!). There are some sound samples on their page here [url="http://www.voodoolab.com/tremolo.htm"]http://www.voodoolab.com/tremolo.htm[/url] it is also capable of a much more aggressive sound identical to the "aggressive wobble" on the EBS tremolo pedal website samples which was what I was particularly after from it. Sell new for £110, so I would take [s]£70[/s] [s]£65[/s] £60 shipped for it. Only trades I would consider (plus money to even things out) would be one of the two pedal loopers, Digitech or Boss, TC's Flashback Delay, a compact reverb that does pretty well infinite delay or a Moog MP-201, MF101 or MF105M. Or a Kaoss Pad 3 thinking about it. -
Temporarily wired up in the only way I could get what I wanted at the time fitted! Messy I know but it keeps changing recently so I'm averse to sorting it out too much when I know that there's more changes to be made. Debating what the next step is with splitting it across two board or something as I really would benefit from an MP-201 as well as having my eye on a WMD Geiger Counter amongst other planned pedals!

Bought Dave's Moog ring mod off of him, very quick and helpful all round. Definitely would reccomend Thanks mate!

As far as I'm aware you need a stereo to two mono leads, plug the two monos into input and output and then stereo into the moog. The difference in the pot (resistance as well as the taper) will affect how it works though.

Fender have never really attempted to protect their designs and as mentioned on the previous post it's complicated to do. Fender didn't do anything for long enough that especially due to being the first to make a lot of the instruments their designs became ubiquitous with just an electric guitar or bass rather than to a specific brand. If you ask someone who knows literally nothing about guitars to draw an electric guitar they'll probably draw a strat or something very close. Once it's become that common knowledge it's pretty well impossible to protect. I'm also unaware of exactly what IP protection consists of in China, other than the old copyright means I have the right to copy correct?! In all seriousness there are laws in place for copyright etc but they're generally ignored by the majority of manufacturers anyway. -
Oh okay, well we'll find out soon from there website, from looking around I think it's coming out in the next couple months anyway so won't exactly be long.
