  1. Bought Luke's T40 off of him, really really happy with the bass! Communication was great throughout and fast and helpful definitely would definitely recommend him!
  2. Yes the 600 ohm would be useless direct out of an iPod, and much as they still do benefit from a portable amp from an iPod they still sound good without. Yes they are fantastic for general listening, they're my over heads for out and about as they do sound fantastic but are still nice and small and the clamping force and isolation is generally very good. People are often amazed at how little sound is leaked from them. I've only briefly ever played with the 215s but the 25s are an absolutely massive improvement in all areas especially in bass response and tightness as well as the noise isolation is much much better yes.
  3. With HD25s as long as you avoid the SPs it will be a good set, as far as I'm aware they all come with the two different types of ear pads. Other than that the main difference is the cable that comes with it, I've upgraded mine anyway so that becomes irrelevant really. If there's a c in the name it has a coiled cable and is it's the HD25 II 13 or something along those lines then they're the high impedance units that really need a good dedicated amp to drive them.
  4. I'd go with some Sennheiser HD25 IIs for this, fantastic sounding cans and fairly accurate production. Definitely wouldn't advise beats for this situation or for anything other than listening to only hip hop / simple beat based music.
  5. They aren't using the same set of machinery to build both the American's and the Mexican's anyway are they? Hence the extra routs on MIM basses where they have been held by the machine.
  6. 4.5 also has a better low end due to the larger tuned port. 410 is much more mid focused, some people do love them for that reason.
  7. Pedals by Dave Hall, any from the VT1 drive pedals and up really. http://www.davehallamps.co.uk/page8.html
  8. Thanks for that and they will be getting a great bass for the price with this one, love the neck on it. Would be keeping it if I didn't have my Fender Jazz V or have my eye on anything else.
  9. Have had a fair bit of interest in this but as I could really do with the cash right now, I'll take £100 collected or £110 posted on this which is as low as I'm willing to go.
  10. Right this is still available... £120 shipped, £110 collected.
  11. I do now have a box so this can be shipped (looking at interparcel prices for an extra £10) have PMed Taa who of course has first dibs but if anyone else is interested let me know in case Taa chooses not to take it.
  12. Whilst I personally am not one for using items such as grippers in a bass playing perspective I do see the benefits of getting the hands warmed up however possible though I don't see why anything than playing would be needed for this. I would also add from the other side that I'm quite keen on training grip (completely seperate from bass playing) and you're unlikely to find anyone interested in it that really believes items like gripmasters are any use for anything but a warm up as put simply they don't go strong enough to be in anyway strenous on a persons hand and so won't build any noticable strength may only very marginally increase stamina in these muscles though I would be surprised if anyone would notice it especially when if looking at it from a bass perspective you're also practising which is strengthening the more relevant muscles at the same time.
  13. My first bass which was a Milestone III also has the International series label on, if you do want to know for definite I'd give Peavey an email. I emailed them a few years back when I bought my Fury I and couldn't find out anything about it and they could still date it by serial and sent me loads of information about it so do seem to be extremely helpful.
  14. I will have an ask round a few music shops about a cardboard bass box on monday to give me something to ship it in then.
  15. Bump, got my eye on something so a quick sale would be nice. £110 collected.
  16. Not interested in a trade for a 70s Columbus Jazz and cash are you? If not very tempted and I may be in touch if I manage to shift my old car soon.
  17. Apologies about the really slow reply life got a bit on top of me last week. Here's a few photos of the worst of the fret wear, first shows 1-3 and second is just the first fret. 18. Sorry somehow missed the reply, the frets is in reasonable nick but do show some wear I'll take some photos later to show better as it's easier than attempting to put it into words. Truss rod does indeed work yes and the output of the pups is very good, they needed lifting but now sound great. If you mean the actual sound characteristics I'll have to have another play with it through an amp to remind myself!

    Opeth

Gutted I've missed this tour, they're a band that have kind of slipped from my attention recently for some reason. They generally seem to be amazing on tours and crap at festivals from my experience. Personally the new album has it's moments but I don't feel works too well as a whole. Akerfeldt's always seemed like a great down to earth guy on every performance and in person to me...
  20. If you chose to split it I might be interested in the hot hand on it's own.
  21. Possible trades I'd be interested in... (plus cash either way depending upon item) Hiscox hard case for Fender cases, think it's the EBS or something. Boss OC2 SFX Thumpinator EHX Freeze or the Boss Digital Delay with hold feature Markbass Super Synth
  22. This is a 70s-80s Japanese made Columbus copy of a Jazz. Overall condition is reasonable particularly considering the age of the instrument, pictures should show much better than my description though! The body itself is solid with some wear as can be seen in the photos overall condition is very good. The neck is one of my favourite parts of the bass due to the binding and blocks, headstock does have a crack as shown only visible from the front so I presume it's just the surface lacquer and doesn't appear to affect the bass in any way. Electronics work well after a bit of a clean up and lifting the pick ups, as shown the scratchplate is missing but I prefer it this way a la jaco! Also to note is a couple of the intonation springs are missing off the bridge, I've never missed them though, genuine fender replacements only cost a couple quid for a set to replace the, anyway. £125 Collected in Sheffield. REDUCED £100 Collected, £110 shipped within UK SOLD Have got a feedback thread on here as well as 100% (350ish) on eBay through user smilingllama.
