Hi guys, My band is finally in place, we're making the progress we want to and everyone is clicking well. The problem: we have no name. A couple have been thrown around and the singer has written countless lists of ideas that just...aren't quite right. I need ideas from people who are fresh, funky and not too emotionally involved! Our sound is a mixture of gritty southern rock, funk and soul and I'd love the name to reflect that. Just struggling for ideas! Any help HUGELY appreciated Peace out.

I'm sure you guys will hate me, but I'm guessing YouTube isn't the greatest way to judge I'll like this bass? on YouTube these USA subs sound great but the stores around me only have sterling and the cheaper subs. Is this enough to get a general idea of the stingray sound?

Thanks everyone, that really helps! I play a Fender Precision Deluxe Okoume now which is active so I'm definitely in an 'active' frame of mind! Plus it would be nice to have a second bass which can offer something really different. I'll keep a lookout on here to see if one pops up!

Howdy - I'm not sure I've written a post here before so hello and hope I follow all the rules... I've been thinking about getting a stingray, and after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing I thought it would be best to try and pick up a used MM one rather than go for an OLP or SUB. The trouble is, as a stingray novice, when I look on eBay the prices seem to be so wildly varying (from £600 to £1500) that I'm having trouble working out what I realistically need to budget! Can anyone offer any advice on the best stingray to start out on?
