Rewire 4x10 Cabinet from 8Ohm to 2Ohm?

Just plugged the SVT in for the first time. WOW. Cab works a charm, too. No distorting, but only got the volume to 9 O'clock so will see how it sounds at rehearsal tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Best birthday ever! I would obviously try the cab first! I'm usually a 15 inch cab guy - the 2x12 is like a middle ground to my ears, but only heard youtube demos. -

Thanks for the help man! This diagram correct? http://s711.photobuc...rallel.jpg.html Re. the 2x12 - it actually looks to be a perfect cab for my needs. Not a huge fan of the peavey's sound, but it has served me very well. -
I would guess he is doing it because Ampeg don't recommend you use anything other than 4 or 2 ohm load and he doesn't want to buy another cab.
Correct. I'm saving for the 212AV though. Just need something for now. Will it lose power? -
If you don't need the horn then you could just disconnect it and the crossover.
Sorry, forgot to mention - tweeter and crossover are disconnected. They sounded awful! Will the cab lose any power at 2Ohms? Is there a foolproof guide for how to do this? -
I have a Peavey 410TX cab that I would like to wire into parallel for use with an SVT-VR at 2Ohms. Will it work? Teach me your ways.
The PA100 is a valve amp and uses a multi-tap transformer to match the output stage to the speaker load. It always gives the full output.
Cheers!!

I have just bought a Selmer PA 100, not actually picked it up yet, but it has an Ohm Selector, and you can chose between 3.75 (4), 7.5 (8) and 15 (16) Ohm speakers. There is also a 100V option, but I don't know what that means. I have a Peavey 410TX which is 8Ohm, does anyone know if the selector enables the amp to run at 100W with any selection? i.e, if I wire it through my cab, will it be running at 100W? I understand that most amps halve the wattage if they are 8Ohm but are being played through a 4Ohm cab, but does the Ohm selector change this?
I reckon you could squeeze one of these in there:
I saw this, anyone got one built they want to sell?
Boss LS-2 is by far the easiest. Good buffer in the pedal and separate volume controls for each part of the signal.
Really can't fit anything to be honest + also fancy the challenge! Ideally something similar to the clean blend on my deluxe muff.
Mmmm...sort of depends whether you want low frequencies clean or distorted...
To be honest, whatever is easiest! 'Clean lows' sounds interesting. I'm not sure regarding polarity, I'm just aware that when using blendable kits sometimes there can be polarity issues.

Any chance of a pic if this is available still? -
Hello hello hello, I bought an OCD clone a while back to use on bass, and while it sounds great, I'm just not getting the lows I would like. I know there are blend circuits available but then I'm faced with the issue of polarity.. is there a way I can get around this? Is there any other way of getting more bass out of my pedal? Changing caps or something? Pic of the pedals guts is up, but I can add more if needed. By the way, there is no way I'm buying a separate looper pedal for blending! All the best, SB xxx

Strings came today! I wasn't expecting the t-shirt, lanyard and pen though!! Everyone should buy D'addario strings, best strings and best customer service I have ever encountered.
-
Andrew from D'Addario saw this thread and has hooked me up with a new set of strings!! Customer service done properly!

Restrung today with some flat wound chromes, my problem is no longer! - 'Duff' sting it was! Thanks for the help!
-
My pups were slightly too high, but the intonation issue is still there. The nut seems fine, also. I think it must be a 'duff' string, I shall restring. Thanks for your help! SB
Unlikely, given it's nearly two years later.
Theres no harm in checking, but there is harm in being arsey.
Is the pickup very near the strings - especially on the bass side? If so, lower it a bit. Look up 'stratitis'. G.
This may be it! sometimes I hear a faint chorus effect on my bass, could this also be due to PU height?
