I'm starting to get a few butterflies at the the moment. we are playing at a local pub tonight and as well as friends and family i know few people from other bands who have a night off are coming plus workmates, i know the guys from other bands come to gigs to scrutanize and maybe criticise. i really should'nt care and i can only do what i can do. still got those nerves though, I'm using a Hartke 400watt head and this cab, so its not as if they wont hear me!
They probably won't notice any subtle mistakes, what's obvious to you will probably slip past most people - and lets face it, a lot of non-musos don't know what a bass guitar is. Musos will be/have been in a similar position and most will be supportive, at least to your face. The thing I do is to accept I'll probably make a couple of mistakes but just enjoy myself anyway.

    The idea....

I think it's a great idea - it could be a really useful resource. I checked maybe because I have the technology, but time is an issue. I'd like to think I'd be able to contribute something tho'
  3. I asked for pics a couple of days ago and received nothing </sarcasm>
  4.
Doesn't that same argument apply to the BR? I have one, and it's great, but as far as I'm aware it's not bass-specific?
that's why I'm not so sure about getting the boss one
  5.
Not tried both, but have and use a BR. Its a top bit of kit! Bear in mind that the Tascam is a guitar model and not yet a Bass specific, so the effects will be all guitar stuff. It will probably NOT cut out teh correct frequencies for the bass as the CD BT Mk II does either. My advice is if you desperately need to evaluate teh Tascam wait unitl the Bass specific MP3 comes out.... or...... get a BR now....
the bass one is out now - check out this link, if they're that new then maybe no-one's tried one yet. If someone would buy my boss looper I could get one
  6.
Hey Beedster, take a look at the guys hands! Do you really want to go and play mind games with someone who's knuckles clearly spend as much time in contact with the floor
but if you look at the guy's belly, I'm sure chris will be able to outrun him if it turns ugly
  7.
Didn't he do a record with that legendary producer Tony Viscosity ?
now that's funny.
  8.
I've been running the 2.5XL and 115XL together (as is Steve from the looks of things).
Yeah I am, with a warwick profet 3.2. The master vol is at about 12 o'clock at rehearsals. Two guitars, acoustic kit and loud singer and its plenty load enough, but more importantly very clear.
  9.
The guy raises a good point about the strength of the pound to the dollar right now, even with postage this to me seems like a sweet little deal considering the condition its in http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Early-Peavey-USA-T-2...1QQcmdZViewItem
that's a gorgeous bass
  10. That's a bloody good price for two fantastic cabs, considerably less than I paid for mine recently, times is hard if no-ones snapping these up
  11. for an extra £15 I'll add a three switch box (made by red onion) with one mono and one stereo jack output to control the additional functions - reverse/bank up/bank down. It's unpainted and shipping is included
  12. I'm going to be getter a phrase trainer in some form soon, and was wondering which one was more appropriate. Has anybody had experience of both or either one? Are there any alternatives? I've used a Korg Pandora before which was great, but I'd like something that stores the backing tracks. cheers
  13. As new condition, been on my board since I got it, complete with box, manual and CD. I'll take cheque, cash on collection or Paypal - but the buyer will have to cover the Paypal fees. I'm selling this to fund an mp3 trainer, so I'm not looking for trades, (unless it's an mp3 trainer of course) Link to the boss website page is here for info I'm looking for £115 shipped, or near offers cheers edited for price adjustment

    Boing boom bap

at least no one will steal it
  15. so I decided togo with the neck pup cover. I'd had it stuck on for a week or so with no nails tape stuff. Looks cool, but in a much more utilitarian light, it encouraged me to explore plucking the strings in different positions (I hadn't realised how little I had explored this), which made me look at varying how hard I was plucking the strings...... I could go on anyway, it's looking like this at the moment I love the unintentional soft focus . I'm still considering putting on a set of black beauties
  16.
Hello all, was tempted by this myself, but have my eye on other things, might be worth a look, seems like quite a nice example to me http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/bass-guitar-1970s-ba...tem200157098984
oh I like that
  17. wow, nice find (depending on the price obviously)
  18.
I use one of these; http://www.samsontech.com/products/product...cfm?prodID=1600
I have one of these in the for sale section here
  19.
However, if you use the appropriate modes for the appropriate chords, you're more likely to hit strong notes at the correct time.
can you clarify what you mean by strong notes?
  20. I saw this too, it is lovely but I sadly can't justify it at the moment
