Oh and have fun. It's the only instrument I practise at home now because it is so much fun to play. You will find it more fun than frustrating if you get a good teacher and learn to play it correctly rather than going the trial-and-error route, you will be more accurate and articulate much faster if you have a teacher, and there will be less guesswork and more confidence. Trust me!

big +1
I've been using a home made one for quite a while now between my board and rig without any problems. Mine sends 9V AC and 9V DC to the board with the audio signal from the board to the rig. Never had interference issues.
Bought some LaBellas from Nick, nice chap (well he is a Manc! ) and the strings arrived really quickly. I'd be happy to do business with him again, cheers mate
If you can get to South Manchester I would definately try Pete (username MajorMinor on the forum). I've been having lessons with him for 12 months and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
Jamie bought this rig from from me, he's a top bloke to deal with, and if I had £650 I'd snatch it back, (seeing as my 1x18 has just died on me at a gig ) It's a fantastic piece of kit that always delivered
