1.
I own four ACGs and placed orders for two more last weekend. That unfortunately means I currently have no spare cash for this one but I would recommend having an ACG to anyone interested on a truly top quality bass. I've currently got a Roscoe SKB and a limited edition Rickenbacker for sale, simply to fund my ACG addiction. Fabulous bass. Great price. Good luck with the sale.
+1, if you're going to drop a grand on a bass, make sure it's this one, you won't regret it
  2.
Hey Woodyratm, Have you sold your stuff yet? Did the whole rig work smoothly before you stopped using it? I've had some trouble with these gk3bs and gi20s before so had to get rid of mine. Cheers
If he hasn't sold it yet this post won't help. Well done you!

    Moffat Bass Bash 3

Totally brilliant event - I especially enjoyed NOT having a hangover on the Sunday morning for this one. It was good to catch up with people again, and to meet others for the first time. The guitarist and drummer were stars, and Laurences talk on jazz improv was both fascinating, thought provoking, inspiring and confusing in roughly equal measures. A big thank you to Alan and Dave for organising it, and another to Dave for the lift there and back. Roll on the next one.
  4.
I wouldn`t get too hung up on the theory side (although it`s no bad thing) for a pub covers band.
+1, it's more important that you can nail a track fairly quickly, and that you're prepared to do your homework and have it learned ready for the rehearsal.
  5. busy sub forum this! - bump to page 1
  6. I ordered some about 18 months ago, and IIRC he wasn't the quickest to respond. I'd send him another email, or look him up on Talkbass - he did have an account on there.
  7. some pics..... I can email more pics if needed
  8.
Pics to follow, but basically a classic wireless system. Works perfectly even though one of the ariels is missing (works fine just with one). Want some stage freedom? This little bugger will do the trick! Looking for £40 inc PnP to anywhere in the UK. Paypal fine or cash if collecting (£5 less if collecting)
Does this operate on the unregulated frequency ranges and where are you?

  10. Now I have my ACG, this bass is pretty much redundant. It's a really nice bass but it aint no ACG. There's more details in MythSte's sale thread here from whence I bought it. I'll get some pics up when I get the chance, it's been played loads and gigged a bit, but the condition of it is the same as when I bought it. Looking for £400, I would much prefer collection so the buyer can try it first. Postage is now an option as I think I have found a suitable box to ship it in. I will include a padded gig back also. ta
  11.
Can't beat a new bass day There's something very satisfying in actually collecting it personally too, then driving home with your car filled with that new bass smell You'll know what I mean tomorrow, Alan's basses smell amazing when new, I think Scoop went on about that too, I think Alan said it's Teak Oil... Eude
Through a series of unrelated events, new bass day has turned into 'new bass long weekend' I know what you mean about going to pick them up too, the bass has gone straight from the builder to the owner without any middlemen. Gaving it sat on the back seat without being able to play it tested my patience a bit though. I didn't notice the smell till I got it out of the case at home to be honest.

  14. I could be interested in this Marcus, how does it work for in ear monitoring?
  15. cheers fellas, it's back home with me now, and looks even better in real life.
  16. Ste, I'm still thinking about this, assuming you haven't got sorted out yet. I'll get a pic sorted out of my m9 on the board soon (keep meaning to get round to it). I'm picking up my ACG tomorrow so we could sort something out in the not too distant future?

  20.
Congrats matey! Awesome news Pics Pics Pics - in your own time of course Eude
Yeah, it's certainly good news. I'll get it in enough time to experiment with the preamp before our next gig this Saturday. It'll be a bit of a trial by fire for it tbh, it's one of the more 'lively' places we've played I'll get some pics posted as soon as I have some
  21. Quick update, I'm off up to Moffat to pick this up on Wednesday
  22. Have a look at this link - they provide a free online ear trainer where you can pick the intervals or chords you want to work on. I use it as homework for lessons.
  23.
Check the comparison graph here: http://billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewtopi...f=12&t=8778 I opted for the kappalite basically because i could afford it at the time and wanted to build the best cabs i could afford. it will have slightly smoother response through the mids than the deltalite and as it has slightly higher x-max and thermal limits it should be able to go a tad louder if i really push the amp, although i have no way of comparing and the difference may be slight for all i know and if i'd been short of cash would have gone for the deltalite. One cab may be loud enough for you, depending on what you want. My rig with 2 cabs would be fine in a medium venue with no PA. One cab would be fine for most smaller places. For heavy metal without PA support (or just to be massively loud onstage) i would go with 2 so you get kickass volume. if you play through the PA and your rig is for monitoring only you should be fine with one most of the time. I havn't needed to crank my rig to full power at all yet and we play Loud Reggae/ska/fun. I know most of this is subjective, but i hope it helps! Cheers, Rich
Thanks for that Rich, I'm currently using 2 x Omni 10.5's with DLII's in and while they sound great, I wonder whether the low B on my TRB1006 could be better. Of course it could be the bass itself or the strings, but I've always wondered how I'd fare with a 12. I think I'll prolly build just the one first to see how i get on, and maybe add a second if I need to, and if a direct comparison between and Omni10.5 and a Jack 112 inclines me that way (which I am expecting it to.) I'll probably go for the Kappa this time round just to try something different. I'm playing in a loud rock band, and we've just moved to a new rehearsal space where we can store our gear, so both guitards are now threatening to bring their (matching ) 4x12 extension cabs . I'm confident that the omnis will hold their own, I just want to hit those brown notes to teach them a lesson. I may try a 15'' build in the future, but for now I still like the modular, lightweight cab idea. Have you seen the fEarful cabs over on talkbass?
  24. Hi Rich, I'm starting a Jack 112 build soon, I have a couple of questions you might be able to help me with what made you choose the Kappalite over the Delta Lite II? what kind of band are you playing in, do they play load? I'm wondering whether one Jack112 will cope with a fairly loud rock band? cheers
