1. Hi, £450 is the amp, case and tuner
 2. I have the 6 string version of this bass, and they are fantastic instruments
 3.
Hi Steve, I think it was your good self who did the shielding, it was like that when I got if from you! Very neat job!
I'd completely forgotten I'd done that
 4. If you can't find some common ground for a setlist, I would have thought the project is doomed tbh. You should either take the rest of the band with you or leave and find pastures new. Treading water whilst this ego-centric guitarist has his diva moments will get you nowhere.
 5. Hi Matt, That's a neat shielding job you've done, have you got an earth wire connected to the bridge?
 6. This is a great build thread, I'll be interested to see how it turns out
 7. here's a pic
 8.
Which is why it's a brilliant bass. Peter
It certainly is - I think I played it at the Harrogate BB.
 9.
That neck is going to look lovely Steve. My flamed maple is quite stunning.
Stunning is definately the word Peter. What finish have you got on the neck, and is the back of the body flamed sycamore?
 10.
That looks like perfection. I think you should just stop right there and not bother with the rest of it.
I wouldn't know where to stick my jack plug
 11.
Steve was looking for something recently on this thread, it might be worth sending him a PM: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry459793 I've added a link to this for sale thread on it.
Cheers Mate WB - you have a pm
 12. cheers for that mate, I'll give him a try
 13. Here's the first pic from Alan of the neck blank. Check out the flame on the sycamore and the maple
 14. I bought Gaf's Shine 6er as a backup, for next to nothing, and I was pleasantly surprised when I got hold of it. It's definately worth getting one if you want to see how you get on with sixes.
 15. I had the fretless version of the four string for a while. They're really nice basses, and quite underated, so consider buying secondhand (you might get a good deal). They're active, with a good, functional preamp (mine was a fishman pre IIRC) and I think Bartolini soapbar pickups. erm, what else do you need to know?
 16. 6 for me now, it's like a 4 with a bit more either side
 17.
"This will definately be the last song as our bassplayer has a Bowls match in the morning" And he wasn't lying.
now that's rock n roll I, like everyone else, think you should go for it.
 18.
Ok... I've been playing for a good few years now and through bad GAS I have too many "off the shelf" basses.... I'm looking at selling a large section of my collection and using it to part fund a custom jobbie... Can anyone suggest anywhere good that can build a bass to my specs....? Thanks in advance...
I've done this, and ended up going with ACG. I liked his designs to start with, and I got an opportunity to have a chat with Alan and try some basses at the harrogate bass bash before I committed myself.
 19.
bet it has a nasty case of neck dive...
20. Nice natural looking bass. I've never tried one, what's it like?
 21.
I'm not in the market for a kit, but the engine looks like a rebadged Alessis SR-16 drum machine. P
yeah, I think you can use it like that too, I'd need to check, it's ages since i used it
Does this have MIDI out?
I'll have a look and get back to you
