1.
I'm looking for a semi bass at the moment and the DeArmond's near the top of my list but I don't want Darkstars. (You can throw holy water over me now if you want). If you do decide to split the DSs from the bass.......
thinking about this, you could by the starfire as is, and I'll include the original pups, then you could try the dark stars and swap them out and sell them if you wanted
2.
I would ,but after my initial excitement it's suddenly occurred to me the starfire is short scale so the pole spacing is wrong for my 34" Ibby
sorry mate, the dark stars on the starfire are a DS-1/DS-2 rw/rp set
3.
I'd be happy to take a DarkStar or two off your hands.
I'll bear that in mind if it develops that way DB, I have to say I didn't expect to be breaking this up! watch this space!
4.
Wow that's a beautiful bass Steve but unfortunately I can only afford to buy one bass from you Good luck with the sale though
Thanks Matt, it's a belter, but it has to go

6. I'm hoping to come along to this, what's the deal regarding 'security'? if we bring our gear along, and then leave it lying around while we're drooling at other peoples, how do we know some scrote (from the general public, not a forum member obviously) isn't going to nick something?

WITHDRAWN

how can you still have gas when you've got that shuker?
8. Bought a rack case from Fede, nice bloke to deal with, very well packaged , and delivered quick cheers mate
9. In my continuing drive to rationalise my basses, and build up a war chest, this one is the next on the block. It has a few minor dings (nothing major) and two screw holes above the pups for a thumb rest, plays well and sounds great. Complete with hohner professional hard case - pics of that later. this pic shows tyhe biggest ding on the back of the neck, doesn't affect playability looking for £250 ONO + shipping
10. here's a new pic I'll get some more pics up soon, there is a small scratch in the lacquer on the back of the body (which doesn't go through to the wood) shown below, and a previous owner added a couple of swithes which aren't wired up. Otherwise it's in excellent nick about two inches long, and could possibly be polished out (or filled in with a pen) if it was an issue
11. After some more thought, and amongst other things, the need to rationalise my bass collection, my starfire is definately up for sale, I'm looking for £600 collected. There's a couple of pics on the original sale thread for now, but I'll put up some more as needed. I'm hoping to get to the Harrogate Bass Bash, if I can make it, I'll be bringing her along. Forgot to mention that i'm not looking for trades
12. I'll have this please, assuming it'll be suitable for a short scale bass?
13. that looks freaking fabulous dave, words fail me
14.
We spend money on more expensive basses because we want to
+1, and also because our wives would only spend the money on haircuts, shoes, new kitchens, cats etc if we didn't
15. I like the look of those graphite necked T basses
16.
I've got a Status neck on my Stingray which feels really nice.
same here, i really like the profile
17. hmmm, think it's a perfectly valid thing for a bass, as is classical music (have a look at bach cello suites etc). Just because the basses original role developed as a supportive one in a band environment doesn't mean its uses can't evolve and expand. Boundaries are there to be pushed sometimes
18.
Ahh i wish i had seen this earlier, i would have taken it back off you! i quite liked that rack case.
'tis mine now, mwah hah hah hah hah
19. I've used some of these for years, and the only problem i encountered was when the two parts separated, but I think that was possibly my fault for not watching what I was doing. Otherwise they're great, and as mentioned above, if they were to fail, your strap is still on the pin.
20.
.........although, f*** it, I'll give it a go!
if you invest the same amount of time as you have in this thread, you'll probably have it sussed
21. sorry to hear that mate, good luck tracing it
22.
But the knowledge of theory and being able to read shouldn't change whether someone is creative or not, if anything it should only increase their creativity as it provides them with more tools and understanding.
+1, pretty much hit's the nail on the head for me
23. that bongo is fabulous - pup configuration I'd want + stealth finish. God knows how I'd fund it tho'
