my basses
Fantastic looking ash body on your "Franken P"
It looks amazing in the flesh, so to speak, it's almost distracting when i'm playing. I couldn't believe some numpty had covered it up

    my basses

The birdtable(s) are actually made from a five piece laminate of pine, pine, pine, pine and pine, and you can't make out on these pics but the top is a highly figured softwood burl
  5. One is sold pending, but the cow is still looking for a new home..... moooooooooo!

    my basses

I think I have a relatively stable set of basses for the time being, so i thought I'd post a pic from L to R: my newly acquired Fender Jazz (thanks Geoff) - easy to play, sounds great, looks the dogs Fender P - as above, just different Fender MusicMaster - swapped with one of my guitarists for my Squier VMJ - it needs a refret, which I may do myself. Currently has a Kent Armstrong Hot Rail Guitar pickup and no controls. It still needs a bit of TLC, I'll get there Franken P - very heavy body which i got of ebay, some fool had (poorly) painted over the wonderful grain. Oil finished, replaced the neck (which has a lovely figure on the fb), which I tru-oiled. It has a very high mass piezo bridge, diMarzio pup and a home made pre-amp for piezo, and stacked jazz control knobs. Strung with flats, it sounds wonderful acoustically as well as amplified Cort fretless, loads of tones, again strung with flats, sounds great, i wish I had more opportunity to use it

    Loopers...
Is the Line 6 JM4 Looper out yet? http://uk.line6.com/jm4looper/ I can't seem to find it anywhere (in stock). I wonder if it has better functionality than the Jamman or Headrush
They look interesting - GAK seems to be stocking them. I got as far as entering my payment details but I had to pull back from the brink (new bass last week + new Line6 box this week = potentially p1ssed off wife!)

    gig contract?
What kind of contract are you talking about signing here? One between you and the promoter?

Covers or originals? Whichever one it is, they must be pretty big gigs to warrant a contract, never signed a gig contract ever and both my covers & originals band plays paid gigs! Si
We're doing covers and originals in pubs that's all, but I've read about bands getting stiffed over payment. Have you always got paid OK then Si? Am I just being paranoid? (prolly not the first time)

    gig contract?

my band is about to start doing paid gigs, and I was wondering about contracts, does anyone have any suggestions about the format and content, or examples of contracts they could let me have? tia steve
  15.
Yep I've got one, great pedal but Vista not supported. Then again Line 6 refuse to provise Vista drivers for the Bass Pod XT live too Peter
I had one, didn't get to try it with vista, but it was a great piece of kit, px'd it for Bass Pod XTLive, which is also an excellent piece of kit, and I have got that talking to Vista. Have you tried doing the compatability mode thing?

  18.
Any chance for better pictures
I'll get some done and put them up later today
  19. I was thinking £150 each but I'll do both for £275.
  20. I have 2 Hartke2.5XL cabs which I'm going to be selling, I've not decided what to ask yet, but rest assured I will be doing over the next couple of days, when I've sorted out the current stuff I've sold, so it's a feeler for now. Info here if you need it. There's a pic of them in my sig for now, I'll take some better ones and post them here soon. One of the cabs has a cow hide design behind the grill, this is purely cosmetic and is removable, I left it on because I quite like it I'm happy to split the cabs One sold, one available
