1. Bought from Higgie of this forum, it's a fab piece of kit but I haven't used any effects for quite a while now, and I have gas! I'm looking to get back what i paid for it, which IIRC was £120 shipped (higgie?)
2. I don't have much opportunity to play my fretless Cort, It's swamp ash body, wenge neck, bart soapbars with active eq and active passive switch. It's in excellent nick, with no board wear, and is strung with fender flats at the moment. cheers I'm now gassing for obi's graphite ray neck, so somebody make a reasonable cash offer
3. i use btr2000, and yeah, its slower than my korg dt3 handheld tuner, and the tuners in both my yamaha magicstomp and tascam mp3 trainer (i never realised how mant tuners I had before ), but it does the job, albeit at a more sedate pace. Basically, you get what you pay for. I don't know, youngsters these days want everything yesterday, mutter, mutter mutter............
4. I like those too, all that chrome is retro-tastic
5.
And one more, Thurman Woods: The last fill is just amazing.
damn right, that last phrase he plays is awesome, and he breaks out in a big grin part way through as if he knows he's nailed the hard bit and the finish is easy
6. you could try a piezo bridge, especially if you're going fretless. I've just put one of these from ebay on mine, and it sounds ace with a buffer. You'd need to go active to buffer it though otherwise it would sound very tinny.
7. can't see much point in this, i think three of them are identical. Still, it is a 'very popular instrument nowadays'
8. it's been a while since i updated this thread, but i have been busy with the bass, here's a couple of pics (sorry about the poor quality) it has a satin oil finish (i used liberon and steel wool after sanding back the tru-oil and re-contouring the body a bit), which I'm considering waxing, but the pictures don't do the grain justice, the oil added loads of depth which catches the light nicely it now has a piezo bridge, along with the original pickup with stacked vol/tone knobs for each. I've knocked up and fitted a quick buffer for the piezo today, but still ironing out some electronics issues. The abalone plate hides some of the original routing, but doubles up as a battery cover. I'm thinking of putting together a mixer stage to match the output levels of the mag and the piezo, but the next job is completing the setup while I mull over all things electronical.....
9. I have one of the tascams, great piece of kit, it's really useful for learning covers too, you can boost the bass to hear what's being played, and then cut it to practice playing along
10. I have to say I'm a convert to Precisions, I never used to get it, but now, they're the only thing that really seem to turn my head
11. will do mate, I'm waiting to hear if the squier is sold
12. i may be interested in these. Is there much 'slack' in the action, if you get my drift?
13. as in the title, straight trade for your p ashtray if it's is in decent nick
14. wow, that's a beauty. I'm looking forward to seeing it when the finishings been done
15. there doesn't seem to be a great deal of difference in the string widths considering there's 15 strings, unless of course it's tuned in semitones
