1. you can use no nails adhesive on a roll (from b&q). IIRC it peels of without screwing up your finish, but holds the cover on pretty well. But if something goes wrong with your finish, don't blame me
 2.
Is this still available or has it been sold?
It's still very much available
 3.
But it's a lovely piece of zebrawood/zebrano and it needs to be made into a viable instrument.
PICS!!! have you looked at Squier 5 string necks? mine's like an aircraft carrier, i'm (very) idly considering using it for a six, maybe even some kind of classical thing
 4.
Just to add - I have these in my Overwater J5 and have had then in the 4 string version and think they're great! Stu
Stu, thanks for that mate, much appreciated
I dont know if its possible. but have you tried swapping the necks?
I'd had the same thought as well.
 7. that is one gorgeous bass, nice score
 8. I used to have a white one of these, it looked stunning with black hardware. It was very light and comfortable. The down side I found was the the Bstring was a bit flabby, and the pups were average. The pups are a non standard size, so replacements were difficult, but I eventually upgraded the electonics with an EMG BTC control and VMC control, which did improve things a lot. I still have a soft spot for them
 9. if you have the cash, you could just get one from ebay, I think you can get nice ones for around £45?
 10. hi mate, d'yu know the model number for the preamp, and what kind of price did you have in mind?

 16. thanks for the suggestions fellas, what i think I'm going to try is a stingray type chrome control panel, and a small red tort pickup surround, leaving as much of the wood exposed as possible. I got the strings on yesterday and had a try - and it was pretty good. The nut needs some more filing and tidying and the trussrod needs more tweaking, but it's definately worth the effort and outlay so far
 17. I'm with the uncomfortable slab body camp, although it has to be said mine had a great neck
