1. I've had a Tascam mp3 bass trainer for a few weeks now, and I've found it a very useful piece of kit. If I had to choose between the tascam or a practice amp of similar value (on the assumption that I had a rehearsal/gigging rig already) I'd go for the tascam every time.
 2. dull thud could possibly be a Crafted in Japan P (direct from from Ishibashi.co.jp in Japan) strung with flats, or take a look at the squier vintage series, there's a review for one of them knocking around here, and my jazz is lovely

 7. Hi Mike, lovely eub, have a bump how you getting on with the bongo?
 8. I'm using a profet3.2 with 2 hartke cabs, clean and punchy, altho I am waiting for am ampeg so it might be on the market in a bit. I've nothing bad to say about the profet tho, it has a nice, simple eq and sounds great. The only con I've heard is that the on/off switch is round the back, but that's only an issue if you have it in a deep rack case
 9.
Is this my old bass Steve? If so its an absolute beauty;I only sold it to trade my way up to a 'Ray.
if your old bassworld id was bigladinthewindmill then yeah - I got it in an incestuous three way trade involving a yamaha trb6II and a P bass a while ago! I was gassing for a fretless after moving on my eub, but I don't have the opportunity to play it now
ok try this... go to your mate's computer whilst he is away.. and whilst on their desktop hit the "print screen" key on the keyboard. Now, run paint and select edit > paste - yeah you know that bit..easy. Save the picture somewhere safe that you now have.Don't close paint just yet Ok here's the fun bit.. go back and cut all the icons from the desktop.. dump em somewhere hidden.. you could even delete them. Next bit... set the picture you have just saved as the desktop background. (you can do this from within paint) YOu should have a desktop that now looks exactly like it did before you started messing about.. (close paint, obviously) just watch your mate try to open his icons though.. hawww hawww hawww...
12.
although im not allowed to usee it with my band
why???? I used to have a five, in white, it was nice to play, but it sounded a bit thin, but that could have been down to my amp at the time
 13.
I can vouch for these as we sell Cort gear at the shop where i work. The wenge adds a nice, subtle bite and growl that really enhances the fretless sound. A great bass at a great price!
cheers mate
 14. Here's some pics, if you need any more, just ask. Swamp ash one piece body, wenge neck (I think) very responsive active eq with two bart soapbars. Controls are three band eq, pickup blend, volume and eq on/off switch. any questions, ask away i could also be interested in trades
 15.
Steve PM me your address and I'll send them to you. Mike
you have a pm mike, cheers
 16.
I swapped out all my flats and halfs for DR Sunbeams and I'm happy... accordingly these are surplus - about a year old but unopened - anyone want to give them a try? Mike
How much are you after for them?
 17.
thanks for that Dan, I've emailed Hartke and Sound Technology PLC - their UK distributors
Ordered a replacement from Sound Technology PLC - £75 +VAT, which was £40 cheaper than Thomann - cheers Dan, I owe you a pint
 18. I'm considering upgrading my head (thinking SVT PRO3), and I was wondering about cabs. I have a Hartke 2.5XL and a 115XL, and was trying to work out if I could use the 2.5XL or the 115XL with either a 410XL or 4.5XL. The 410/4.5 is 400W at 8ohm and the 2.5/115 is 200W at 8ohm, giving me 600W at 4ohm, which I assume is enough headroom. but will the output from the amp be distributed at 50/50 between cabs ie at high output levels (for arguments sake, say 420W), will the 2.5/115 be exposed to 210W? I'd be grateful for some opinions/advice, cheers edited to reword the question
 19.
Sorry Steve, as of yesterday, the 4.5 is SOLD. However, I'm picking up a 210XL this weekend and will have one gig with both cabs (the 4.5XL plus the 210XL) so will let you know how I get on next week. Cheers, Sparky.
No worries mate, I'll be interested to hear how the two sound
 20. I got the TI flats on my P this eve, and I'm quite happy with them so far, it'll be interesting to see how they sound at rehearsal on Sunday. Hopefully the sound won't change too much as they wear in......
