2.
The Korg Pandora PX-5D is out soon too and that would be worth checking out as it has tons of extra features over the PX-4 versions. This was in the Korg magazine that came through my door on Saturday.
I had a look at this, but it isn't really what I'm looking for. I've arrived at the conclusion that the tascam is. I think I'll pull the trigger when I'm back of me hols

dan, where did you get the pickguard from?
  4. andy, if you sell the vmj with the original hardware, I might be interested in the badass and/or schallers
  5.
I have to agree, awesome bit of kit, i almost sold mine but it's just too useful. It can do the cutting bass thing, can't remember how at the moment. It's it's just packed full of features, the user interface takes a bit of manual time but having had the cd version of the tascam its in a different league. I take mine to gigs, use the built in drum machine to jam along, record my self playing while pissed slip the sd card in my laptop and send it to my drummer ooops!.. The cab/amp simulation effects for bass are good enough for casual demos. The other way i use mine is plugged in to my amp either feeding the aux in with a tune/drum loop/metronome or using the DI out into the BR The list of features just goes on and on, tuner , metronome etc Really if you are prepared to RTFM its a no brainer
steve - are you talking about the Boss Br here?
  6.
Was he playing one of those Ibanez's with a carry handle, by any chance?
our new-ish guitarist has one of those.
  7. apologies for hijacking your thread Si
Yeah... my Squier Jazz has a Fender decal on it, but I'm not selling it so it's not an issue. If it went up for sale, I'd remove the decal and probably get a humorous one instead. 'Blender Jizz Bass' or summat.
Rich - how did you go about replacing the decal? - I may do that to my Squier VMJ Si, nice job so far - I'm considering some kind of project P with a jazz neck
  8. and put some pics up when you've done it, the pup cover will look ace against all that black

that looks really nice, I've been trying to fend off increasing P gas for a while, this hasn't helped.

  12. that's a lovely bass, if you do decide to sell, can i have first dibs?

    What would you do?
the yamaha looks interesting
the effects sound really nice, the downside is that there is a slight gap when switching between different effects patches. Not an issue for me (so far) because I use a separate disto and filter/synth, but it is something to bear in mind. I've not really got into editing the patches yet, but you can connect it up to a pc to do it which makes life easier.
  14. ishibashi sometimes have second hand ones in the u-box

    What would you do?

I started out with a Behringer V-amp pro, but was never really happy with it. I sold it and got a shedload of single pedals, which all sounded nice, but realistically I was only using less than 10% of the time. I've ended up ditching the majority of singles and getting a Yamaha Bass MagicStomp, which gives me the best of both worlds.

  17.
USA Fenders are going for under £500 at the moment, so what the hell's going on here....? Chris http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-Jazz-Bass-Rep...1QQcmdZViewItem In fact, I've just found the same neck new for £119.00.
people are bidding before they've done their homework, or they're stupid, or both
  18. I think they look really nice, if the MM Bongo design team (ie BMW) designed a jazz, this could be it. I'd be interested to play/hear one
  19. I think you should call his bluff and go round, whether he 'gets his hands on a camera' or not. Leyland is easy to get to from Manchester, and a deal is a deal. You could ask him how he would of reacted if someone bid £600 and then pulled out after the auction ended
