However, after falling in love with the gloss finish on the Fender P I had at the time I looked into getting this refinished. So, off to Mr Shuker it went for a tinted gloss lacquer finish. This included a complete re-fret and new nut. Think I saw this while I was down last wheeling picking my new one up. Looks like a great thing to do and definitely something I'd like to have a go at.
Oh man, I've been considering something very similar since I saw Flea playing that. Very envious. You gigging anywhere near me any time soon? :-)
Hey man, rehearsal last night and it was epic! Gig today so will let you know how it sounds through the GK head and Barefaced cab 😁. Gigging near Leeds next Sat mate, no problem with anyone wanting a shot anytime. It's an amazing bass.

Cheers all, yeah Jon is excellent and easy to deal with. I think it's a fairly simple idea but the tweaks and build quality make it. You should hear it, magnificent! Anyone in the North East welcome to have a shot too👍

Bought a MM stingray from Mark today, met up in a service station in a totally not seedy way! Genuine guy, great comms, one of BC finest. Cheers dude
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes! This is what fender should be building instead of the one he hasn't used for a decade as his signature! Ace
That was my exact thought, I did buy the pink one too but this would be the one I would've put up as his signature model.

This is my new baby, picked it up today and Oh my what a machine and what a dude Jon Is! I originally asked Jon to build me a neck for a potential build I had in mind which after a few emails between us turned into a full build, and it was the right decision. Its a beauty! Based-ish on the new Fender Flea is playing ( in a RHCP tribute see ) I asked Jon to build me something cool with some parts I had accumulated. Badass Bridge, '79 Stingray pup, Aguilar OBP-1 preamp and between my incessant emails and Jon's vision and patience we/he came up with this. Plays like a dream and sounds absolutely huge, lots of growl and clarity in spades. Maple board, painted alder body and based on a jazz-ish with a few tweaks here and there. Spec for those asking.. 34” scale 22 fret 1.5” nut width 22mm deep at 1st fret 24mm deep at 12th old C profile 7.25 fretboard radius maple neck maple fretboard off white face dots, 6mm 2mm white side dots small fret wire two way truss rod (body adjust) carbon fibre reinforcement satin neck lacquer drilled for fender size tuners (schaller) bone nut Pleased? Muchly. Put it down yet? Nope Can't recommend Jon enough, great to deal with and the finished article is superb. Now I see why he was highly recommended on here and so busy! Cheers all hope you like as much as I do, few pics attached. Now, I must press on, must keep noodling!

Could be a tad warm?

I used to get cramp in my left hand especially long gigs. I read somewhere it's possibly dehydration and low potassium so since then a banana on way to gig and drink loads of water and no problem since. Might be a load of rubbish but works for me.
