Don't break it up, it needs to be left as a bass no matter what you do with it. Play it and love it or sell as a whole bass. Plenty of people, me included would be interested and keep it as a bass, just needs some tlc

Brian bought my JV jazz and arranged the courier too. What an absolute top bloke, super easy and great comms. Enjoy the JV dude

Yep correct, I have a Compact Bass too but thought I’d give the big box another go, I can always sell it right 😂 I like the MXR, it’s a very good compressor, and better than Empress imo but my go to is Cali76 every time. Worth the money imo. It’s not to say this isn’t great, the Cali just works better for me 🤷♂️

Now £950 Fender Flea Signature Jazz with additional FLEA decals ( these can easily be removed too) . In excellent condition ( you know what I mean ) and comes with Fender soft case and hard case too. Price includes U.K. postage and no trades thanks. £900 if you wanna collect. More images on website www.thebassmonkey.co.uk Fender Spec and info below - Flea’s funk- and jazz-influenced basslines helped propel the Red Hot Chili Peppers to the top of the rock and alternative charts while redefining the role of bass in the modern era. Flea’s unique playing style brought a welcome breath of fresh air to the musical landscape of the past four decades, inspiring countless bassists to add a funky touch to their sound while exploring new techniques and harmonic possibilities. To celebrate his enduring influence, we’ve recreated his prized Shell Pink ’61 Jazz Bass that he received from a fan and used to record the Peppers’ Stadium Arcadium and The Getaway, as well as with the super group, Atoms For Peace. A pair of vintage-style, American-made Pure Vintage ’64 Jazz Bass single-coil pickups provides classic, original-era Fender tone with clear articulation, clear low end definition, up-front midrange punch and singing high end. The vintage-accurate stacked concentric controls shape the pickups’ volume and tone, as well as allowing the pickups to be blended in any ratio. The Flea Jazz Bass plays fast and easy, thanks to its period-accurate 2-fret “U”-shaped maple neck with a smooth RoadWorn® Nitrocellulose finish on the back, plus a 7.25”-radius rosewood fingerboard with a 1.5” wide nut. The vintage-style bridge sports four threaded steel “barrel” saddles, adding a touch of crispness to enhance the attack for tone that can power through a busy mix. Shell Pink is the rarest of Fender’s classic Custom Colour finishes, and Flea’s ’61 Jazz Bass is quite possibly the only one in existence. We’ve carefully recreated his personal instrument’s exact faded shade as it exists today, and then applied an eye-catching Road Worn nitrocellulose lacquer finish that perfectly replicates Flea’s playing wear. A special neck plate engraved with Flea’s own artwork commemorates the inspiration behind this instrument. Other aesthetic touches include nickel/chrome hardware, 3-ply tortoiseshell pickguard and aged white dot position inlays. Melding rhythm and melody with fierce personal style, Flea’s left his mark on modern music, and the Flea Jazz Bass is the perfect tool to make your own. Specifications Shell Pink Vintage-style, American-made Pure Vintage ’64 Jazz Bass single-coil pickups 20-fret “U”-shaped maple neck smooth RoadWorn Nitrocellulose finish 7.25”-radius rosewood fingerboard 1.5” wide nut threaded steel “barrel” saddles nickel/chrome hardware 3-ply tortoiseshell pickguard aged white dot position inlays weight 4.3kg

Commerford Stingray. Bloomin’ heck!
walshy replied to James901's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
It belongs to a mate of mine and he's a member on here too @Fleabass. Yeah its a lot of money, I think he's asking less than it cost to buy plus the mental import duty added to it which took it over the £4k he was asking. Its now a bit less than £4k too and I am sure for those interested on here a message direct to him is the way to go. Great basses, low run artist signature model = high price ticket item -
Tribute Bands - do you play in one? Just for fun
walshy replied to Mickeyboro's topic in General Discussion
Ok, my two penny’s worth- Bass in Fu Fighters, FooVana and U.K. Chili Peppers over the years Do you have to be a fan of the original artist, or maybe you become one? I would say 100% if you want to do it justice and enjoy yourself. Personally I wouldn’t play in any band if the music didn’t appeal. How important is it to be visually/musically identical? How much latitude are you allowed? I used pretty much the exact same gear, including some of Nate’s actual gear including his Black Lakland Bass , Ashdown CTM and pedals. Also his signature Fender CAR P, although I had an original 69 and 72 CAR too. Looking like him was never an issue, couldn’t look less like him tbh. Being Flea I dressed in the skeleton suit and played a Modulus, jumped about and had an excellent time. Such a blast. Do you ‘get into character’ or is it just a gig? Just gig, but lucky enough to play some absolute killer festivals in front of thousands of people, as close as I’ll ever get to rock stardom. Does it feel musically limiting, or is it fulfilling your needs? (Maybe you have a side band?) Fulfilling as you can still put your own spin on things but it has to sound right, especially the Flea stuff, you just can’t wing that! Do you have any qualms about tributes ‘stifling original music’? Nope Have you ever met or been seen by a member of the ‘originals’? What did they say? Yeah, met Chris Shiflett and he was super cool about it. Spent about 30 mins chatting and exchanged picks with him day after Belfast gig a few years ago. Such a cool dude. What is the overriding thing being in a tribute act has taught you? Play your heart out as the audience care that it’s right and right. Having done it once, would you do it again? If so, would the musical angle be very different? If it fits with something I’d like to do then yeah. -

Following the cliche: Precision 62, Sunburst, Tort, Rosewood
walshy replied to SumOne's topic in Bass Guitars
Ha ha I stand corrected. You know me dude, I love a P bass, utterly fabulous things. Think I’m down to 9 now 😂 -
I use a Gramma Pad, it’s excellent and not had any issues on boomy wooden stages since. For the money they’re excellent and super well built too.

Very nice, you can’t go wrong with a P imo. Only does 1 trick but it’s bloody good at it. -

1974 Fender Jazz Bass This beauty is in all original condition apart from a very well done refret at some point. To be honest with the amount of use the bass has seen, it’s not surprising it’s had one in its lifetime. It’s a super genuine bass hiding nothing. Neck plate stamped 73, which is an oddity but pots, pickups, pickguard all date to 1974, not out of the ordinary for Fender as we all know. Truss Rod works as it should. Neck has no markings on the heel. Popped it round to Bassdocs for a once over today so he could cast his beady eye over it. Super light weight for a 70’s Jazz, sitting at 4kg fully loaded as seen in pics. 2 previous Pro Owners before me, who used the bass live and in the studio. This beauty has genuine mojo in spades, no relic job here !! Non original case, be quick this stunner won’t be around long. Can deliver using my man with a van for £60, possible mid point meet up or you’re welcome to come and try up here in the North 🙂 For sale elsewhere on my website and reverb at a higher price. More pics available if required, it’s really a play it bass tbh, it just feels right. No trades thanks and price is firm.
