  1. I had a pro for a while and never had an issues with it.
  2. Sorry just found your post, i sent wizard my standard pick up for them to check the size etc. They sent me a new hot pick up, i think they supply a shop in the states with them. But theres nothing on they're website.
  3. It look's like theres a vast difference between outputs and reliability. its a shame, great sounding amp but no headroom or reliability. Unless you have a reliable one, which i thought i had until saturday night.
  4. Did you get your money back ? ive been offered an exchange on another amp so far.
  5. Guess i spoke to soon, mine started cutting out on saturday nights gig after 4 numbers. Then the red peak light came on, but no fault or thresh lights. Had to turn gain and volume down under half, for it to start to not cut out. In desparation i plugged in my sansamp and turned up the level on the pedal to re gain some volume. Didnt have anymore issues. Tried it on monday same thing happened again. Now sent back to the shop i bought it from, who have as yet not found a fault with it.
  6. The bassist is Gary Day.
  7. withdrawn
  8. Hot single coil P pick up, this was a prototype i had made recently. £50 posted
  9. Had mine a couple of month's and love it, replaced the pick up with a wizard item and love it more. Has a lot brighter sound than my squier jag fitted with a wizard thumper and hot J pick up. Guess partly down to the pine body.
  10. Mad thing is i was thinking of getting an orange terror head but got put off by some reliability issue's. Im still suprised how far i have to turn up the volume compaired to other amps ive had (around 400 watts) im happy with it, if a little worried.
  11. Keeping my eye on this, mines still ok after six gig's. Only piece of mind is the two year warranty with them.
  12. Im loving mine, and not noticed the neck width being any wider than a jazz in feel.
  13. Fuzz, i replaced my blue speakers in my abm 2x10 with celestion bn10 200s neo speakers. Which from my understanding are higher speck than the originals. Almost makes the cab half the weight now.
  14. Final price drop £150
  15. Gigged with mine last night, two 45 minute sets. Set gain at 6 no peaking etc volume up on 7, it was shaking the place.
  16. Had a mess around in the shed this afternoon, before a gig tonight. Followed ampeg's suggestions, put compressor on 0. Put volume on 5, turned gain up to 8, clipped slightly so put it back to 7. Then started turning up the volume a notch at a time, after about 7 it really start's to jump in volume. Also noticed that by turning up the treble and bass to 5 it really effects the volume also. Ran it for a short time flat out on the volume with no clipping what so ever. I wouldnt dismiss the PF just yet.
  17. Emailed ampeg this morning and got this reply back Hi, Thanks for writing. The best method for setting the levels on your PF500 is to increase the Gain control until just when the Peak LED comes on, and then turn it down a little. This will insure that you are taking advantage of all the available headroom from the amp. Then you can adjust the overall level of the amp via the Volume control. If you have almost no headroom, then using the -15dB PAD on the amp, is the easiest way to keep from distorting. As a side note, one thing I would recommend doing is turning the compression all the way down when you set your initial levels, this way you can guarantee that you have a nice clean signal, and are then applying compression to that same signal. Compressors are great for warming up a signal, but if one is clipping already it will just turns a very dynamic square wave into a smaller square wave. I hope this can help.
