I only emailed G&L yesterday about the prototype single coil MFD's they've been working on. Turns out their still in the test stages but when ready they'll do a press release. Side note, i picked up a 2019 G&L JB standard last week and its probably the nicest jazz ive ever owned. Prototypes pictured.

Ive had an early two10 from new, mines not lifted but it looks like its shrunk slightly. Always kept in a padded cover when not being used. not sure if its helped.

Also being a very late in the game convert to Trace stuff I'd say Trace watts are a real head fu*k, but easy as loud as anyone else's 500 watts.

I've also got a trace SMX 12 280 watt head as well, I'd say i definitely play in a loud band. We're not talking doom or anything like that, but two guitars, acoustic guitar, loud drummer, sax and flute/violin plus stinky poo load of pedals used by everyone. Practice is usually very loud, the trace goes through a barefaced two10 or maybe at a gig a homemade 600 watt 2x12. Ive never had an issue with the head not being heard or farting out.

Ive been using a gp12 smx for a while now with a two10, and I cant fault it. Recently been experimenting with a home made 2x10 and the two10 linked to a 70's peavey head because it can go down to 2ohms. But I'm going to get my local tec to put a switch in the back of the two10 so i can switch the 4ohm to 12ohm and try the trace with it.

I remember to queues for the Phoenix fest, a lot of people only managed to get in after Bowie had finished.

Any links to the info about MFD's being fitted to JB's for nex year ?

I hardly ever comment on BC, but visit most days. It was funny enough people loosing their stinky poo over the pedal, but now the packaging is mental. I thought the box was a nice touch, I guess Alex could have charged more for the pedal and sent it out in a varnished box with hinges 🤣

Managed to put the primer, then gold then black on today. Let it harden off over night then flatten a lacquer it tomorrow, its shrunk back in a few places but should be ok once flattened.

Round wounds or flat wounds ?

If it wasn't for the lower section being lighter, I might of just clear coated it. But now going for a shoreline gold ( closest halfords ) match with black over the top,

Turns out its a thin poly finish, warmed it with a hot air gun and peel away. Took less than an hour.

Ive recently bought a classic series 70's jazz, in sunburst. I hate sunburst, anyone have an idea if it would be poly or cellulose finish ? It does appear to have only a thin coating on it. Take back to bare wood or just flatten back and prime/topcoat ?
