1. Less than two month's old, little use. Great look's nice to play, but does'nt suit my style of music. £480 ono Could be interested in trades, a ratty rick or stingray maybe or G&L or a fender of some kind
2. Strap length and width make a big difference, found after having one made to the right length for me and being a wide leather strap. i had no more neck diving issues at all.
3. Not finding it uncomfortable to play anymore, getting used to handling it a bit. But the sound is still muddy, but im working on that.
4. 3mm wpb plywood front and back (which i had handy) and some stripwood from B&Q and some metal ball corner's off ebay. Need's some finishing, as its only spayed matt black at present.
5. I'll bump this as the bass was bought from me, i owned it from new and never touched the truss rod or noticed any issues with the neck.
6. ended up making my own for about £20.
7. You got to feel sorry for Hooky though, because if he had any real talent. He would obviously be on here all the time
8. Not many bass player's have they're own sound and have influenced so many in the post punk year's.
9. The guy who makes darkstar pick up's has disapeared and has'nt answered any email's etc for a good couple of month's
10. Yes, although it would mean making the pick up hole bigger. Also considered a tv jones thunder tron, neither company have emailed me back despite having mailed them twice. Guess they're to busy to sell one pick up
11. Ok, the output from the pick up in my jack casady bass is according to epiphone 6K. but im finding despite the fact its meant to be a good pick up, it's very wooly and lacking any bite. It's a humbucker but a weird size. The only pick up i can find so far that will fit in the hole is a single coil seymour duncan pick up for a precision rated at 14.5K also they do a rickenbacker pick up that'll fit. Bartolini do one also, but ive not found out the output's yet.
12. I dont really understand what the difference is between a humbucker and a normal single coil pick up. But would i be right in thinking, that a high output single coil pick up measuring 14.5K would have more power than a humbucker with an output of 6K ?

20. At present have tried three different pick up maker's but no joy, Bare knuckle dont do anything, tv jones have one that would fit but have'nt got back to me about the sound etc, wizard could have something that would fit (im hoping they do) but there is the possiblility either a bartolini or seymour duncan rickenbacker bridge pick up would fit with no problem's, as its a smaller pick up than the jack pick up.
21. Got myself a 3inch wide leather strap yesterday from http://www.bulldogproducts.co.uk/guitarstraps.htm as they're local to me. And its cut down on the neck dive, due to i suppose more grip on the shoulder. A lot of people recommend putting hipshot bridges on epi's, which also due to weight cut's down on neck dive. Have a few people getting back to me on pick up's at present. Watch this space !!!
22.
how would they do away with the switch ? do they have some kind of impedance switching themselves ?
Ive no idea, maybe they'res is a higher output pick up.
23. Darkstar appear to be the only replacement ive found, they do away with the 3 way switch.
24. The only place i could find a sound clip of a bass fitted with flat's and also normal round's was on the lakeland site. And must admit the lakeland hollowbody bass sounded a lot better.
25. Ive found the best sound so far has been with the varitone set to 500, but it could be i need to play around with my amp/sansamp setting's.
