  1. Heres hoping
  2. This is the second one of these made in japan jazz basses ive owned. Play's very well, weigh's about 9lbs. Bought last year as a 9/10 condition which i'd agree with no ding's or buckle rash, slight discolouration on the tuning peg's (or maybe they're nickel plated ?) Serial number dates it as being made in 89/90. looking for £400 with hard case (none fender) Have had a few offers of trade's not really interested in any amp's etc. Either cash or at a push, if anyone has one a gold epiphone jack casady bass.
  3. Until i read your post i didnt realise the tour 450 had a red limiter light, im running mine through a home made cab with a 1x15 black widow speaker and a 2x10 ashdown cab plus a sans amp. Ive never gone much over half way with the volume, and i consider us to be a loud band. Have you tried using the high input and using the bright botton, as this will boost the volume ?
  4. Try a sansamp or a set of wizard's
  5. I phoned andy about a set for my squier jag, explaining that i found the bass very bright accoustically and slightly muddy lacking definition when plugged in. He advised a thumper for the P pick up and a similar wound one in the J position. Has really transformed the bass, it now has a lovely growl.
  6. Fitted them this morning and its really tranformed the sound. Its darkened the bass slightly but added more clarity, precision on full jazz on 3/4 volume. Tone both at 3/4 is pure heavenly grit.
  7. Got a pair if wizard pick up's turn up today, hopefully will fit them over the next couple of day's.
  8. Ive had a fiddle with my control's and both appear to work fine, but im still finding the tone on the jazz pick up very on and and off. But the tone on the precision pick up doesnt really do a lot whether its on full or completely wound off.
  9. Will check it out.
  10. I also bought one about a week ago, and fine the jazz pick up all or nothing on the tone. Not sure if it would benefit from a set of basslines pick up's or better pot's. Lovely to play, just not sure about the tone.
  11. Glad your happy with it richardd, a sansamp is all these old head's need to brighten them up.
