1. Also done the same mod on a VM jazz, no problems.
2. Pass, previous to that i had a go on one around at our drummers house. That also felt lighter than my VM squier, so it was a bit of a relief to find a heavier one with a bit more tone out the. When it comes to me buying a CV i'll make sure its not a lightweight one.
3. Picked up two in my local guitar shop and i recon they varied by a couple of pounds in weight.
4. My first bass was a hondo rick, mine was sunburst with dot markers on the neck. Only ever used it through a 50 watt combo, at the time it sounded great to my ears. Would love to find it, just to see if it really was crap or not.
5. Haha was going to pm you mike about popping over and giving it a try funnily enough
6. Its a good price, not really up on ashdown stuff to know if there's much differance between the mag stuff and the abm heads ?
7. Have also noticed the peavey tour 450 comes with a 5 year warranty
8. Forgot the other thing is its got to be repairable, my local amp tec shook his head a while back when i mentioned G&K. Had a little 250watt G&K back in the mid 90's and loved it. Not sure if its down to digital stuff or printed circuits thats the problem.
9. Have tried a ashdown abm 500 head which i liked the sound of, im also keen on the peavey tour 450 head and the hartke lh500. Anyone had any experience with any of these heads ? Budget is about £450.
10. Must be my eyesight, still looks like a shuker neck to me (good shot of it 56 minutes in)
11. Looked to me like nate from the foo's has a shuker precision
12. Hell, what band where you in ?????
13. Played with some bands a couple of years back who i think were signed to deckcheese records (the ruined, phinius gauge, fire apple red and no comply ) and the way i understood it was if they played somewhere it was part of the contract that the venue would provide them with a meal, depending on the venue also part of the takings on the door. Then again i played in plymouth one night with one of them, and only about 9 people came along. So the band where hoping to sell some cd's so they had enough diesel to get to exeter.
14. Done this last night warts and all, done live in a room into a desk with backing vocals added afterwards. http://www.myspace.com/weazeldust
15. Pending bass sale it a possibility.
16. Having tried out one of these at our drummers house. i went into my local guitar shop this morning. They had two on display, and i'd say the weight between them was a good couple of pounds.
17. buff

jazz project

Have now added a emg lj pick up in the neck position and put a tort plate on i got off warwick, could do with a bit more t cutting and a little setting up. But more than happy with the sounds from it.
18. Great briton then
19. Too true, an exeption to have an english signiture then.
20. I know you cant compare the two james to each other, but was jameson a household name in the sixties or was it just known some guy played most of the bass on the motown stuff ? I know biffy are'nt huge but have supported the likes of the stones, so clearly there is a market for this bass. I know there are more deserving players who should have had sig models, burnell for one if recent comments about on here about "this guy made me want to pick up the bass" are anything to go by. Dee Dee also springs to mind, dee dee over dirnt anyday.
21. Bought a scratchplate off john, turned up to my door the next day. Thanks
22. Got a halloween gig next saturday, thinking of going in a darth maul stylee. Will post pic's if i do.
23. No problem, saves confusion all round.
24. Stan stammer, peter hook, adam clayton
