  1. Why? Will they be unable to get a visa? I would assume any cost would be tax deductible?
  2. Can't narrow it down to 3.
  3. Bauhaus They are my best mates favourite band, and I never got them. Not sure when it clicked for me, and I realised how good they actually were. I saw them on their first reunion tour 14 (?) years ago, absolutely awesome gig.
  4. As a metaller at the the time, I quite liked the earlier stuff,Like Tone Loc, and Run DMC, because they tended to rap over rock loops/tracks. This before an established career path leading to clothes lines and acting roles. What i've never understood about the development of 'Gangsta' rap is the juxtaposition of violent/sweary lyrics, over laid back, mellow music. Public Enemy had brutal lyrics with backing music to match, which made more sense to me. But it's not my scene, so maybe I'm not supposed to understand it.
  5. I dunno, it's possible to be over-prepared 😕
  6. Depends if he's been paid or not.
  7. Bugger ☹️ Seriously considering driving up from that London and back, on Saturday.
  8. First concert - Donington Monsters of Rock Last concert - The Cult Best concert - Twisted Sister Worst concert - The Exploited Loudest concert - Motorhead Seen the most - The Damned Most surprising - Soft Cell Next concert - Not known.. Wish I would have seen - The Thompson Twins
  9. For me it's a no. My Shuker's were custom made for me, so when I play anything else it doesn't feel the same or as good. I bought them to play so I gig them regardless of the gig
  10. Yup. It's basically a hook on a spring. Clamps the string for an E, unclamp for open D.
  11. that's caught me out before, fortunately only at rehearsal though, not at a gig.
  12. would a link to my Basschat profile be considered 'evidence'?
  13. did you all give details of a referee?
  14. i had that too. From The Friday Rock Show IIRC?
  15. I wonder if he'll play any Black Sabbath \m/
  16. Wasn't Larry's number given out in an ad a while back? IIRC there was a thread on here and a Basschatter had a natter with him.
  17. Unfortunately I now have gigs on 27th & 29th March, in that London, so will not be able to attend. But thank you for clarifying!
  18. Not me either. This may take some time!
  19. what a woman!
  20. too many to remember. But many years ago at the end of a particularly good gig, I raised my bass upwards in triumph... Only to be suddenly covered in fragments of the polystyrene ceiling tiles I'd just put the head stock through.
  21. Are you sure you wouldn't rather be having beer spilt on you at a half full Dog & Duck while pished up punters fall into the PA speakers?
  22. Over the years I've owned, played, and gigged, valve, old, modern, heavy, and light (including Trace and Ampeg) For the last few years my TechAmp Puma 500 has been my amp of choice. Plenty of heft, sounds great and I can feel the bass through my 2x12. IMO. YMMV. (and very good for metal )
  23. Also Flotsam & Jetsam opening for Megadeth in about '87.
