  1. Mark Mendoza playing a rather nice G&L too.
  2. Mainly I've been listening to all the Christmas songs that have been crow-barred into the set over the last week or so, plus New Years Day - U2, which we are going to play after 12am at the New Years Eve gig.
  3. in the setlist since last Friday: Slade Band Aid Jingle Bell Rock Last Christmas Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Springsteen version
  4. i don't know why these don't hold their value, and are not more sort after. They are fantastic basses.
  5. Eric Faulkner... when he saved a suicidal man with the words: ‘You think you’ve got problems? I used to play guitar with the Bay City Rollers.’
  6. if there's no Woody it ain't the Rollers! 🥰
  7. i don't do the iTunes or put any money into the already overflowing Apple coffers, but I fully support this initiative.
  8. Got to be better than 'a bloke down the pub says...' 🙃
  9. Be the better man? So that the band get what they want and continue to think the way they treated the OP is ok? My 2 cents: do the pros of wanting to do a great gig, outweigh the cons of doing a gig with people who have treated you as they have? If you choose to to the gig, as someone said earlier, I'd asked for half the fee. FWIW I would not do the gig. Though had the split been amicable I would have.
  10. absolutely this. I once quit a band 2 weeks before a British tour and have no regrets/guilt for having done so.
  11. If I had a flag, today it would be flown at half-mast...

Technically, we're not allowed to talk about it! 😉

  12. the last kippers I had were smoked in Grimsby.
  13. Yup, original on the left, and the one on the right for when I join Steel Panther...
  14. my Mum can still name all the dragons that used to live in Ivor's furnace...
  15. A joke of former rubber faced TV mimic Phil Cool, back in the day: Who has the easiest job in the world? The person who does the laundry for Motorhead.
  16. Possibly subtlety has been my undoing, and therefore the point of the thread has been missed . In the OP the song examples given feature NO BASS!
  17. Only one White Stripes song allowed, and nothing from And Justice For All! But what else can you add? In no particular order: We Will Rock You - Queen When Doves Cry - Prince Big Yellow Taxi - Joni Mitchell Whisky in the Jar - Thin Lizzy ('73 version) 7 Nation Army - The White Stripes
  18. That's not slap, he just occasionally uses an elegantly enhanced downbeat, with a graceful emphasis on the back beat 😉
  19. Jaco never played slap bass. 😜.
  20. The Marshall sim was particularly good. It would not have fooled any purists, but it was a very useful great sounding amp (sim) in its own right.
