  1. "or it has helped you purchase a piece of gear," I think you are the reason I found out about Shuker's, and now have 2, with 1 more on the way. Does that count?
  2. Lotsa nostalgia, back in the day this was my dream amp (combo). GLWTS
  3. So is anyone gonna come up with a usable 80's type keyboard bass sound?🤑
  4. An update on my part... I wouldn't say I've completely nailed it, but I'm 95% of the way there. We've gigged it a couple of times but now it seems to be out of the set, which p1553d me off a bit after the work I put in to learn it. Still it's my 'go to' piece when trying a new bass, or if i'm asked 'play something'.
  5. Just in. Managed to get the last tube. Bass on my back and rest of gear on a trolley. Thankful for muscle memory 😁 We played 9 to 12:30 with a break. We've over 50 songs that we pick from and did 3 new ones tonight. Great gig. Load in from hell though, I should start a thread. 3 lanes of traffic on a blind corner to contend with 😖 That's why I never drive to this one.
  6. don't really see the problem. Opera often deals with the same subject matter as Metal, but because it's considered 'high brow' and often in Italian, we're not debating the lyrical content of any arias. For example, from The Departure Aria: This damn door sticks, This damn door sticks It sticks no matter what I do. It is marked 'pull' and indeed I am pulling Perhaps it should be marked 'push'?”
  7. Hi Trev. My preference would be the Kingbass, if it has a bendwell?
  8. If someone happened to be travelling from Camden to South West London, I'd be able to meet and then take it to the SE Bassbash?
  9. About 10 years ago - or so - there was a Ritter for sale on here for £900.00. Absolute steal at that price even then.

  12. It could be just me and your Granny playing a washboard, and it would still be The Fall. - Mark E Smith.
  13. We've had a couple of requests. I can't do the first one because the guitar is too wide...
  14. We accept requests, and if it's on the set list, we'll play it!
  15. The Snapdragon folding bass is my spare that gets taken to most gigs. I wouldn't say I rotate, as that implies some order or intent, but I do gig all my basses.
  16. Billy Sheehan. I've learned a lot from his playing, not necessarily the widdly stuff, but being the bass player in a band.
  17. He used to be known as Rex Rocker, and was in a band who released 3 great albums, before selling out and changing their style completely to fit in with the prevailing popular rock/metal genre. One of the few bands whose attempt at jumping on the band wagon worked for them.
  18. Extended E strings for me, a la Kubicki style. Shame to waste the space next to it, so bend well a la Mark King style. 😎
