Scooby Dobie Doo?

I saw them at Hyde Park 2007. Tbh was underwhelmed. They were a bit static, didn't really get the great showman bit from Tyler. His voice was ok though.

I've been listening to their podcasts. Good stuff 😎

What I actually needed in a bass. Plus a zebra skin finish! 😆

I came to bass from classical guitar, so still use floating thumb, and also occasionally pluck with my thumb, but the first time I played a bass with a ramp it just felt right 😊

Ok. Shuker No1 was everything I wanted in a bass. Mid-scale, Thumbchum (combined ramp, pup cover, and thumb rest), bendwell; extended fret board, monkey grip, scalloped frets at the dusty end, pink LEDs that flash and pulse, and the highest outputting pup possible. But it is also couture, as the body has been resized for me and slightly widened at the bottom to fit how I hold and play the bass, and a slim fast neck. The low action and ramp mean some people find playing difficult, but for me it is glorious. It plays and sounds wonderful.

Near enough will do for me. Playability is the priority. Plus I'll be going through pedals so may want to get crazy at times 😉

Shirley that'd mean raising the B string by a semitone? 😜

I'm gassing for an EUB and the Ibanez UB804 seems to be ticking all the boxes. I want something I can pluck and bow, which is versatile with the sound (db or bass guitar). The shorter scale length appeals. And as I often take public transport to gigs, not having a bridge that will get knocked is plus. Is there anything else I should be looking at that meets the criteria?

Are you going to put something soft on the floor too, to avoid chipping the bottom of your basses?

Just wondering if anyone who has objections to buying from Amazon has done anything about it? Maybe advocated for policy changes, by contacting local representatives and expressing concerns about corporate tax avoidance and worker treatment? Or supported campaigns and petitions, and maybe donated to or volunteer with organizations like Tax Justice UK or Fair Tax Foundation that work to promote fair taxation and corporate accountability?

Do they still have the outdoor stage?
-
Not sure if it's there anymore, but in Southampton there was a pub called The Hobbit, which had a mini pyramid stage outside at the back. I always thought that would have been a great place to play. I only ever saw bands play inside.

A weird thing that happened, the guitarist was playing a semi acoustic through a pedal board. When he kicked on his fuzz pedal, it distorted the bass too.

Royal Blues, at The King & Queen, in Fitzrovia. Acoustic night, drummer played a Cajon. It was still a tight squeeze on stage, our line up is vox, bass, guitar, drummer, and 3 backing vox. It went really well, people were surprised when told it was the first gig for the band. Gear for me, Rob Allen Mouse, Swiff Audio wireless, into the house bands mini Markbass combo which fed into the PA.
