  1. Same as, they do look cool, and I've gigged a Rickenbacker but the only other thing I liked about it was the slim neck. I'd be interested to have a go on your T-Bird, are bringing it to the SE Bash?
  2. she were a gud ol' Yorkshire lass, and she liked her Huddersfield.
  3. It's always nice when companies actually give a rats about their customers.
  4. It's about time someone mentioned Norm, and the Rhythm Stick bass line. A case of more is more. That song would not work as well without a busy bass line.
  5. erstwhile Basschatter and style icon, that's me!
  6. Speak for yourself! I think it's not putting in the practice and study which is the issue. How many of us have the time to spend 8 hours a day practicing? Or even the willingness to? As one esteemed Basschater said to 'you don't need to learn how to slap to play Brown Sugar'. One of Steve Lawson's teachings is 'there are no secrets, here's how it's done'.
  7. Richard Page? Mr Mister were on last night's Top of the Pops 1986
  8. Could have quoted other posts, but yours will do 😜 Not knowing theory/being able to read, will stop you getting a gig where it is needed. But knowing theory/being able to read, will not stop you getting a gig where it is not needed.
  9. Arrived today. It's smaller than I was expecting, which is good.
  10. being able to read/knowing music theory does not stop you being able to play by ear/jam etc.
  11. Do your recorded bass lines have to be recorded by yourself, or even real bass? I'm old school, in that back in the day being able to nail the bass in the studio meant reducing I how much I cost my part of the recording. But these days I tend to agree with the Tony Visconti quote (to Clem Burke when recording Heart of Glass) "we're making a record, we're not documenting a live gig". Rick Savage admits most of Def Leppards bass parts were done by a sequencer, and Gene Simmons has always been happy to say he doesn't necessarily play on every Kiss song. So, does it matter to you?
  12. The Damned have had keys since their 3rd LP
  13. blast from the past! they played my old Uni back in the early 90's. Didn't they do the Starsky & Hutch theme?.
  14. i've ordered. Price plus having it's own adapter swung it for me.
  15. £27.00 now! https://www.gear4music.com/search/?str_search_phrase=eden
  16. Just because someone is older, it doesn't necessarily mean they are talented or know what they are doing. Just because someone is famous it doesn't necessarily mean they are talented or know what they are doing.
  17. No I believe you. You are definitely minus the bass...
  18. my Shuker's are not only custom built, but couture built too. So that's a no from me. I'm out. Our survey said "X X" Stick etc...
  19. my old set up. I still have the bottom cab, which is a 2x12 but the speakers are 'wrapped'. If you want them vertical just tilt the cab
